Worked on a project team to rewrite Clarke’s mainframe-based billing system in a
client/server environment. Worked daily with user analysts to design and implement online screens using PowerBuilder and DB2/2. Wrote subsystems to run in batch using MicroFocus COBOL (COBOL II) with DB2/2. Worked in billing maintenance to provide application support to all billing users.
Completed project to implement a price increase for Clarke’s LINK credit union customers. Completed a project to create custom Monthly Management Reports for Nations Bank. All projects and maintenance in this area required frequent use and detailed knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language).

Management System on LAN PC’s using Paradox with Graphical User Interface (GUI) design techniques. Responsible for gathering user requirements, designing, testing and implementing programs. Conducted user demonstrations, training, and follow-up enhancements.
Provided primary support for Valero’s Reserve Evaluation and Gas Processing Systems on the IBM ES9000 written in COBOL II using IMS and DB2 database as well as back-up support for Natural Gas Operations and Accounting systems. Provided continuing support for ad-hoc query and reporting requests for the Natural Gas Marketing system using COBOL II and DB2. Wrote online and batch transactions using DB2 database. Designed and implemented update and query screens using Dialog Manager. Trained users and provided support during implementation. Developed follow-up enhancements.
Worked on a team to rewrite the Marketing System using Intersolv’s APS code generator. Responsibilities included screen design, development of DB2 databases, batch and online transactions, and design of Marketing Subsystem. Served as ad hoc Program Manager, breaking the project into workable logical pieces, working with DBAs to design the databases, and working with users to gather their requirements. Wrote and tested code, trained users, supported end users, developed user manuals, enhanced production programs, and created all JCL to run production jobs.

Responsible for maintenance and development of CPS’s electric revenue forecasting program using a Unisys 1100/91 with FORTRAN. Responsible for development, maintenance, running and analysis of a PC cash management model on a monthly basis to provide an overview of CPS’s available short-term financing options. Ran a mainframe cash management model on a monthly basis to determine long-term rate and bonding requirements using various mathematical and statistical methods. Worked on software design teams for special projects using the mainframe with COBOL and FORTRAN.
