Volunteer Coordinator/Administrative Support

Schedule in Outlook Calendar and conduct monthly orientations of up to 20 new volunteer applicants who will be assigned to specific departments; track service hours of up to 200 volunteers using the Volunteer Hub management platform.

Point person to address and successfully resolve complaints and inquiries from supporters and volunteers.

Assist in the management of confidential donor records and correspondence in Salesforce.

Draft, edit and prepare mail merge functions for donor acknowledgment letters in Word and Salesforce.

Calculate total annual volunteer hours in Excel and organize/present an annual volunteer appreciation luncheon to recognize approximately 80 volunteer guests.

Coordinate special on-campus group projects for scout troops and employee volunteer work programs.

Train and assign ongoing tasks to five weekly Administrative volunteers to prepare swag items for transport to union lodge fundraising sites, inventory store items, carry out computer projects, assemble gift bags and conduct front desk reception duties.

Oversee local National Charity League weekend events (workshops and New Member Orientations) and ensure ongoing positive relationships that have resulted in consistent and sizable annual grant monies.

Create a quarterly Volunteer Bark e-newsletter which features volunteer achievements/projects and fosters relationships between the school and a large volunteer corps through engagement and recognition.

Attend fundraising strategy meetings in person or via Zoom to help plan budgets and organize logistics for events of up to 500 guests.

Assist in preparing rooms for meetings and making arrangements for food and décor at campus events.

Receive and process deliveries for staff; answer main company phones and oversee security access doors when visitors arrive.

Ship event and merchandise orders; help conduct annual merchandise inventory.

ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE OF ALEXANDRIA 03/2004 – 06/2008

Community Outreach Coordinator

Develop and present engaging educational activities to school children about the humane treatment of animals; coordinate summer Animal Awareness Camps and deliver school-site educational programs.

Launch a pet emergency evacuation action plan for the Alexandria community; liaise with city officials to devise a best-practice protocol for safe and efficient co-shelter and transport in the event of a disaster.
