Supplied innovative designs for household name clients in the high-end interior design, retail, commercial space, exhibit design and the marine industries. Modified and refined designs, using working models, to conform with customer specification production limitations, or changes in design trends. Developed concepts into compelling design solutions, taking into account human factors, space planning, color forecasts, materials, finishes, and packaging design. Senior Industrial Designer, 2012 to 2018

Provide unique design solutions for airline interiors and exteriors. Clients include Emirates, Etihad, Delta, United, Alaska, and Asian Airlines.

Create innovative design solutions through 2D sketching and 3D CAD software. Evaluate feasibility of design ideas based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics. Designed the Gemini cube, a waste and water vacuum disposal unit for the Boeing and Airbus wide body aircraft, which was a hit at the Hamburg Aerospace Show. As a result, 10 major airlines are requesting the product, creating $3M in sales to the company.

Senior Lead Designer, 2006 to 2009

Directed designs for this North American manufacturer of boating vessels and yachts. Consulted with clients on design concepts by executing 3D virtual models to demonstrate preferred design layouts, custom furniture, and finish concepts. Drove decisions with clients and manufacturing that kept project deliveries on time and within budgets. Managed expectations with this demanding niche client base by balancing imaginative ideas with cost realities. Selected Achievements:

Directed the design and development, from initial model concept to final production, of $12M to $36M mega yachts. Meridian Yachts — Maxum Yachts /US Marine (Brunswick Corporation) — Arlington, WA Design Director, Design Manager, Senior Lead Designer, 1991 to 2006 Designed top-selling products in mass-produced recreational pleasure boats in 14 domestic plants, Mexican, and European locations, including retail boat dealer showrooms and national consumer displays. Managed 14-person team from both the development engineering and interior design divisions, including the mockup and prototyping divisions.

Developed and presented future product portfolios, including color material and finish direction using the latest scheduling and planning software while designing for lean manufacturing. Created and delivered components with over 250 vendors and OEM suppliers domestically, in Asia and in Central Europe. Developed design processes to ensure program requirements and deliverables are met on time and within budget. Responsible for designing, engineering and introducing into production 15 new yachts from 28’ to 60’ per year which resulted in sales of over 6 million annually.
