1.Employment history

1. Private home base care giving for an elderly (temporarily) (4 days per week) (notice period: 30 days) (01.04.2022 – to date)

Care giver:

Some of the duties and responsibilities I attend to daily, are the following: understanding medical requirements (physician appointments, give daily medication, ordering medication) taking care of transport (shopping, personal appointments), managing finances, providing emotional support, housekeeping (prepare healthy meals, daily walking, manage garden - and cleaning services), and ensuring home safety (ADT, load shedding).

2. M & M Training and Rigging (17.05.2021 – 28.02.2022) Operational/Admin manager:

Head of department overseeing all operational functions: assist admin assistant with quotes, bookings, load/6th monthly tests arrangements and stand in if he is not at work.

The ordering of diesel and record keeping on usage of vehicles there-of.

Assist the transport manager with the maintenance of the fleet: quotes on parts, ordering of parts/equipment and stand in if he is not at work.

Updating different excel spread sheets on a daily/weekly basis: job allocations, petty cash, maintenance of fleet, vehicles’ availability, log sheets and vehicles inspection checklists.

Handling of petty cash: withdrawal of money and issuing money for supplies, receive money and invoices back, paying parts with debit card, arrange EFT’s and mail invoices to financial manager.

Any other task/s as requested from management.

3. Summit Crane Hire (16.07.2018 – 30.04.2021) Workshop Admin: (16.07.2018 – November 2019)

I was part of a team that included the workshop manager and 7 staff members. The workshop had a software programme, “Maintenance Pro,” that I was required to complete and update with all the fleet’s information (services, general maintenance, licenses, tests, breakdowns, quotes on vehicles damaged in accidents, etc.). This also included creating work orders and purchase orders. I obtained the quotes and ordered parts needed for the fleet, as well as other material required in the workshop. Assisting with any breakdowns locally or the rest of the country, was also part of my job. Once a year I collected the info on the fleet’s values for insurance purposes. I kept different excel spreadsheets up to date.

I handled all the vehicles Summit rented from Kempston Truck Hire: month-end kilometres, arrangements for services and replacement vehicles, and any other documentation or information they required.

Workshop Co-ordinator: (November 2019 – April 2021)

I reported directly to the managing director, Clint Correia. I carried on with the admin tasks, as stated above, and was running the company fleet (mobile cranes, trucks, trailers, bakkies and cars). This included arranging tests, services, general maintenance, breakdowns, ordering parts and getting quotes. I oversaw the workshop staff (technicians, mechanics, assistants and storeman) and also completed their timesheets, leave applications and special requests. I dealt with all the suppliers and vendors of Summit. The company is closing down on the 30th of April.

4. Automotive Dynamics (2018) Buyer/Sales representative: 15th March – 20th April (1 month contract) The main functions were compiling quotations and ordering parts from suppliers.

5. MacDonald’s Transport and Warehousing (2013-2018) General Admin/Operations Clerk : November 2014 till February 2018 It involves office work and work in the yard : containers, stock taking, raisins, consolidation and forklifts information gathered to put on the different computer programs and excel spreadsheets. Drivecam Administrator: March 2014 till October 2014 I managed the whole fleets’ drive-cam events, assigned drivers, doing reports and coaching of incorrect behaviour by the drivers. I attended a day-course on coaching of the drivers in Tableview (2014). Tracking Clerk: August 2013 till March 2014 I started at MacDonald’s in the tracking department. Daily reports and monitoring of trucks on the roads was the main duties and the C-track system was used.

6. ElJoSa Travel and Tours 2012 – 2013 (permanent): Workshop administrator: January 2013 till August 2013 Stock taking, Regulations according to Occupational Health & Safety, Management of workshop personnel (daily times, salaries, leave), COF of buses, general maintenance of the fleet. Operational administrator: January 2012 till December 2012 Dispatching, daily planning according to trips on the computer to check on satellite tracking, geo-tab program understand, paperwork for next day, bus licences, accommodation for drivers should they go overland to arrange, tickets for bus drivers book, S&T allowance for bus drivers, filing of documents, salaries of bus drivers, client services, managing bus drivers – queries, questions, general appearance and uniforms. Although I am workshop administrator, I have to stand in for the other personnel, should they get sick or going on leave. We work in shifts, and therefore I dispatch and do satellite tracking too (program used – geo tab).

7. ElJoSa Travel and Tours (January 2005 – December 2011: permanent) Operational assistant: Doing quotations, bookings, planning, despatching and breakdowns of fleet vehicles’ throughout South Africa. Workshop assistant: Manage cleaning staff, purchases from suppliers such as oil, chemicals parts e.g. filters, injector pipes, air bags, starters, batteries, alternators. Attend to tyres, windows, air cons and electrical repairs on buses. Manage repair and maintenance of bodywork of buses as well as refurbishing. Call out tow trucking if necessary. Ensure that the fire extinguishers are all in a working condition and arrange services annually. Administrative work: Stock taking, handling order book, weekly meetings with management, arrange services for 18 buses and 2 “bakkies,” filing, completing of job cards, COF and licensing of buses.

Operational consultant: Quotations and bookings for bus transport, filing, client service and daily meetings with management.
