Role. Managing Director

Hired to originate and develop a financial recruitment department from scratch for a firm that had absolutely “no presence” on Wall Street in the financial markets or investment banking community.

This would turn out to be historic for so many reasons that space won’t allow, but it was a very arduous and next to impossible task as most “Wall Street” Headhunting firms are located in New York or London, UK. Such firms are Korn Ferry, Egon Zender, and Heidrich & Struggles . I was dedicated to accomplish this next to impossible feat and to make a very long story short….I did it. It involved hiring French Nationals, Latin Nationals, Japanese and Chinese Speakers. As a matter of fact, we outperformed Korn Ferry on a famous search for Harvard Management here in Boston, with then President Mr. Jack Meyer. Jack and I labored for weeks before he gave me legal permission to work with Harvard Management. Initially, Jack had doubts about my ability as I was not New York based. I worked with Jack Meyer and we had an excellent relationship which resulted in my placing 3 Key Traders at Harvard Management, one of which was a Jesuit Priest and an ICON on Wall Street.

I was tasked with interviewing a global team of recruiters, and I had to teach them and instruct them on the etiquette of Headhunting . The language of finance and derivatives is a very complex one and to have credibility these recruiters had to know how to function in this language and come across as polished and at least aware of what is going on In the global economies. Etc. As a result of my efforts fees at this firm which were typically in the $5,000 to $7,000 range skyrocketed to $100,000 to $400,000 and eventually $1MM because of my development of very high level recruitment assignments . My average minimum hours per week in this task was circa 80 hours
