• After being with Coastal Marine for 28 years, it was very hard to hear my boss was closing the company. In December of 2019, I had a fall in my home that was rather severe and while I was in the hospital, everyone, (family, friends, employees, and all my bosses) came to see me in the hospital, I can honestly say I do not remember any of that as I had just gotten out of a coma, but I did find out a few weeks later that my boss did sell the business!

• I worked for Barton-Malow on the bookkeeping for the Psych Unit at Venice Hospital, York Building, Crossover Walkway to York Building, MRI Unit in Hospital, Easy Street Rehab and other Construction projects they had going on at Venice Hospital during the period of time I worked for them.
• I went on to work in the Corporate office that Barton-Malow had built on Main Street in Sarasota on the 10th floor. I worked in the Corporate office for about 8 months and then a project became available in the field office in Nokomis for the Water Treatment Plant Project. I went on to work on this project which was quite detailed. There was a LOT of overtime involved on this project. There were special Audits that needed done on this project and I was there almost every Saturday and Sunday for weeks. In December of 1991, I got an opportunity to talk with some people with Coastal Marine Construction, Inc. regarding a position with them and the job sounded a lot more promising with a lot less Politics that were involved at the time with Barton-Malow Company and I felt it was time I moved on. It was absolutely the best move I ever made. Now 28 years later, I can honestly say it WAS the best move I ever made.
