This scheme was introduced by the different state governments to cater for the primary healthcare needs of the less privileged, the unorganized private sector and the vulnerable groups within the different communities. I worked as one of the pharmacist coordinators for the 3-year programme and my role was to always ensure access to medications for patients throughout the scheme.
