Clinical experience
I have gained thorough experience in management of general diabetes and endocrinology conditions from my current position as a consultant, also as a specialty doctor and specialist training.
Through my specialist training, my previous work was a specialty doctor in diabetes and endocrine and subsequent appointments as consultant.
I have been involved in all aspects of diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2 young adult diabetes) including uncontrolled complex cases with or without diabetes related complications (diabetic kidney disease, diabetic neuropathy and foot ulcers, diabetic retinopathy, diabetes and cardiovascular complications). Also, in ideals such as diabetes, pregnancy/preconception management and gestational diabetes.
Currently, I run type 1 diabetes on insulin pump clinic, CGM. I am confident dealing with all latest technology related to diabetes.
As an endocrinologist I have gained very good experience with
Thyroid disorders including hypo and hyperthyroidism, thyroid lumps, cancers and pituitary Disorders - which includes evaluation and interpolation of pituitary dynamics function tests, something of which we run in the hospital.
In my clinics, we also deal regularly with parathyroid gland disorders, polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Acne, excessive hair growth and, irregular menstruation.
In addition, we see adrenal disorders, adrenal Incidentalomas, congenital adrenal Hyperplasia, primary hyperaldosteronism, pheochromocytoma, Cushing’s syndrome and hypoadrenalism, with links to specialist MDTs.
I have the following NHS commitments:
I am currently working substantive consultant physician, diabetes and endocrine/general medicine in Warrington and Halton teaching hospitals.
I am running the young person once a month with diabetes specialist nurse.
I operate the Joint Adolescent transition clinics for diabetes in Warrington hospital, alongside diabetic pediatrician, dietitians and psychologist.
I handle my own insulin pump clinics in multidisciplinary team which include diabetes specialist nurse and dietitian.
I conduct general diabetes clinics including patients with type 1 and complex type 2 diabetes.
I am very supportive of providing my patients with latest technology regarding both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, comfortable dealing with different types of insulin pumps CGM
Using different apps and programs to enable me to access all devises and how to interpret results.
Management: I provide clinical governance for my department and the ward to improve the delivery of diabetes care through regular reviews of outcomes and guidelines.
I see lots of cases in my endocrine clinics which include pituitary, thyroid, adrenal and metabolic bone disease with access to specialist tertiary centers in Liverpool and Manchester.

Also running new referral clinic from primary care, where they got seen by team diabetologist diabetes specialist nurse and psychologist in 3 separate appointments every 2 months to help improve care for those patients.
In general medicine I do regular ward rounds three times a week as well my regular on call duties as per rota.
