SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:

For more than thirty (30) years of combined experience. I'm a mechanical engineering graduate (through home study program, while working), working experience starting as a Welder & qualified 6GR, then NDT / Pressure / Vacuum / Pneumatic test-L2 / Coating test, a previous AWS CWI qualification, at present a Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1 qualification). Experience in the construction of power boilers, hydropower, geothermal power locally and overseas assignments like Gulf of Mexico USA, Middle East Countries, Europe, African Countries and Asian Countries. In the fabrication/welding of tubular structure jacket legs, decks/modules, oil/gas/petrochem plant, fuel storage facilities, onshore/offshore riser pipe lines, modification/repair of offshore platform and facilities.

Responsibilities:

● Inspection/surveillance/witnessing/inspection on Welding, Pressure vessel fabrication, Process Piping spooling/installation, Onshore piping, Offshore riser pipe laying, tank storage facilities, Structural fabrication/installation/erection Works, conduct welding procedure and welder performance test as per ASME Sec. IX, understanding of International Standard such as ASME B31.1 / B31.3 / B31.4, API 1104 / 510 / 563 / 577 / 582, ASME Sec. V / VIII / IX / AWS D1.1. Read & understand project related ITP, procedures, specification requirements, knowledge / experience about Piping Isometric, P&ID, Maps, Weld symbols, Cutting Plans, Quality control procedures, Base materials and welding consumables control. Review / inspection mill certificates, material verification. Inspection of pipes, fittings, flanges, nipples, plate tubes, gaskets, bolts/nuts as per respective materials specifications, Code, Standards. Review / witness / inspection stage wise activities at an earlier stage and ensure the correct welding parameters (ex. joint design, bevel angle, included angle, required preheat, voltage, amperage, heat-input, travel speed), spool fabrication, fit-up and welding visual inspection, monitor and record welding parameter. Monitor and witness which includes UT, MT, PT and random RT film interpretation, PWHT and review reports, line check inspection, pneumatic, hot oil flushing, flood test, flushing & reinstatement, till the final stage of color coding and valve tagging. Review test pack and all inspection reports for final approval, and summation to client approval.

● Safety harness with fall arrestor.Training/experience. Surveillance/inspection from a height, make sure that the scaffolding is securely fastened with a green tag, and safety harness with full arrestor to allow for steady movement around the area needs to be inspected.

● Confined space entry. training/experience, before entering check oxygen level with proper illumination of lights for visual and dark places using ultraviolet light for oxidized cleaning examination, available personnel/fire watchers on standby in case of emergency.

● Breathing apparatus training/experience. I always carry my buddy's breathing device with me when I leave my room, office, or work location. In the event of an H2S leak, it is simple to evacuate by traveling to the designated muster station, connecting a breathing to the compressed air line, and remaining there until the H2S level is reduced.

● Materials review/inspection as per certificates, shielding gas, consumables storage, oven temperature control, heat number, carbon equivalent for preheating and interpass temperature value, added alloying element on the electrodes. Check material surface profile/appearance/configuration, proper storage and handling.

● Maintaining records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensuring that they are readily available for inspection as and when required.

● Preparing surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.

● Attending inspection requests (IR’s) submitted by the contractor and taking appropriate action in a timely manner.

● Providing technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline issues on site that may arise.

● Pressure/process piping and onshore/offshore pipeline. Witness / surveillance inspection of specified pipe size/schedule, piping assembly / fit-up on spool, nipple, fitting, flange specified, saddle, pad, and support. Installation of valves and orientation, specified gasket and bolts/nuts. as per approved ISO / P&ID issued for construction.

● Witness/review hydrostatic test, check procedure and test package, test limit read mark-up on the ISO drawing / P&ID, pressure test equipment and recorder, pressure relief valve, test limits, blind flanges/gaskets, bolts tightening, calibrated pressure gauges and placement, drain/vent location, certificate of test fluid used, pressure test requirement, the gradual rising of pressure and check for any leakage, holding time, and gradual release of pressure, follow by lay-up/cleaning/drying procedure if possible.

● Review approved coating procedure, check calibration of blasting equipment, grit blasting surface profile, blotter test for contamination of oil residue, first/succeeding up to final coating, using calibrated thickness gauge using film thickness strip.

● Review inspection and testing results for conformity to requirements. Clearly identifying the required inspection, hold points, test, and required documentation. Ensure welding reports are complete prior to filling for turnover, and identify non-conformances to the Segment Quality Manager. Ensure Quality Records are maintained and organized for System turnover. Provides input to the development of the project quality plan. Monitors the project schedule to ensure inspection and testing activities are completed to support operational requirements. Maintain Quality Document Logs (Weld logs, Material Logs, etc). Review of ASME Section IX Welding Procedures.
