Select Project Experience

New York State Fence Company, Inc.: 2016-current
As Senior member of the commercial bidding and estimating department, Mr. Petereit has prepared numerous bids and cost estimates for large projects including schools, universities, correctional facilities, airports, federal security rated facilities, and other large projects. Typical tasks include project management, review, and interpretation of drawings and specifications, in addition to permit acquisition support including utility surveys. Preparation of engineering approval drawings, product data submittals, and supporting documents are also undertaken as part of this position. Typical projects are in excess of $1 million in value.
Alpco Recycling, Inc.: 2012-2013
As Project Manager at Alpco Recycling, Inc., Gregory Petereit was involved in a wide variety of activities ranging from site security to compliance to NYSDEC permitting efforts. Site-wide OSHA Health and Safety Plan preparation was also completed. He was Project Manager for the revitalization of the former Kleen Brite superfund site/industrial facility, located on Fair Street in the Town of Brockport and directed meetings with local officials. Project Management associated with the NYSDEC was comprised of the local and state coordination and preparation of construction and engineering documents for a 750 tons per day transfer station.
Environmental Solutions: 1998-2006
As Senior Environmental Engineer with Environmental Solutions, Mr. Petereit is responsible for solid waste management facilities’ permit application document preparation and special projects management.
Main activities include the design, permitting, and construction inspection and certification of various types of solid waste management facilities. Field involvement ranges from QA/QC inspection and certification to construction supervision.
Mr. Petereit is an active project manager taking solid waste management permit submittals from conceptual design to the approval process, and on through the operational phase.
Activities include:
developing complete regulatory report submittals, plans, permit application documents, visual presentations, and ACAD drawings;
performing various environmental impact analyses and assembling supporting documents for regulatory agency impact statement reviews;
developing stormwater management, operations, maintenance, and contingency plans for solid waste management facilities (including environmental monitoring plans and companion site analytical plans); and
creating construction bid documents, plans, and specifications; and reviewing and awarding projects to parties managed as part of ‘the team’.

Prior to EnSol, Mr. Petereit held a management position at Seneca Meadows Landfill where he provided and managed a wide range of environmental engineering and construction certification services.
As Environmental Engineer and Project Manager, Mr. Petereit assisted in day-to-day operations and management of the facility. Activities included:
project management;
special waste approvals;
review of analytical results;
environmental monitoring;
environmental compliance
permitting and expansion submittals;
stormwater management design; and
recordkeeping and reporting.
While at Seneca Meadows, Mr. Petereit administered the Site Analytical Plan (SAP) and Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMP). Development of a landfill gas monitoring and sampling plan to meet new regulatory requirements was a component of the EMP preparation effort. Mr. Petereit also designed and managed a five-acre outdoor yard waste composting facility at the site.
Mr. Petereit conducted and managed the special waste approval program, prepared and completed the NYSDEC SMI Annual Report, and finalized other regulatory submittals.
Further, Mr. Petereit directed the development of a groundwater monitoring statistical database. Upon completion, this database application contained more than 50,000 data points and was capable of generating numerous tabulations and reports.
Larsen Engineers: Rochester, NY 1993
As Assistant Project Manager for an environmental engineering firm in Rochester, New York, Mr. Petereit conducted research and provided consultation services.
Consulting support entailed providing information and conducting research regarding landfill reclamation, food waste collection, anaerobic digestion, existing New York State landfill and water pollution control plant status, and used tire applications/markets.
Mr. Petereit also performed marketing research to identify potential clients for anaerobic sludge digestion/drying process. Additional activities included data collection and compilation for statistical and graphical presentations.
Specific Skill Set
Comfortable in using various software applications including AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and a quick study in the use of specialized computer programs (software and hardware proficient). Mr. Petereit has prepared and reviewed numerous plans and drawings throughout his life and in his career positions.
