PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Healthcare Corporation of America (HCA) April 1999 – August 2021 Director of Information Technology – HCA Florida Capital Hospital System October 2017 – August 2021 Technology champion, leader, and mentor in advancing hospital technologies from daily operations to highly complex cross-functional projects spanning the enterprise. Built highly effective agile teams by developing and cultivating relationships with customers, patients, physicians, employees, vendors, and other stakeholders.

• Led technical project and systems implementation of a 20-million-dollar Free Standing Emergency Department construction project resulting in new business services and products being completed on schedule and budget.

• Led and successfully integrated a new radiology group and all associated artifacts into a multitiered architecture at Capital Hospital, replacing the current group and their proprietary systems under very short notice/deadlines.

• Managed and led the HCA Vision pilot project to bring digital patient dashboards, updated in real-time, to the patient bedside. Acquired $ 300 K + in local funds to make the project successful by improving patient outcomes.

• Planned and managed 24/7/365 continual operations, including system & infrastructure updates to ensure secure protocols by use of change management at HCA’s Hospital of the Future, encompassing eight stories 288 beds main facility with three freestanding emergency departments, a cancer center, and an outpatient surgery center campus.

• Coached, mentored, and developed multidiscipline teams with 14 direct reports overseeing clinical & technical spaces budgeted at > $ 2.5 million annually while harmonizing with division and corporate stakeholders & resources.

• Streamlined ER nursing station design providing a simplified/lean layout, increasing nursing efficiency and productivity while maintaining HIPAA security standards.

• Integrate unique systems into HCA architecture to provide seamless interfacing for stakeholders and customers, increasing productivity from such companies as Johnson Controls, GE, McKesson, Dolbey, Hill-Rom, and many more. Manager – Network &Telecom, HCA - North Florida Division March 2016 – October 2017 Spearheaded the daily network and telecom services activities, ensuring timely delivery at 14 acute care facilities, multiple surgery centers, cancer centers, & physician service group practices within the North Florida Division.

• Negotiated contract with a major ISP to co-term all WAN connectivity while upgrading to VPLS technology, improving latency, and saving in excess of $ 200,000 yearly.

• Managed and executed the transformation of a Freestanding Emergency Department into a 64-bed hospital (Oviedo), including MDF/IDFs and local data center builds supporting HA & DR on time and under budget (multimillion-dollar).

• Planned resources and led the implementation of a Cisco VOIP telephony systems upgrade at HCA Florida Capital Hospital System, successfully implementing and transitioning from a traditional PBX system savings > $ 100,000 a year.

• Planned, budgeted, and executed the implementation of system monitoring utilizing SolarWinds budgeted at over $ 500K to provide proactive system monitoring for engineers & administrators supporting 24/7/365 systems reliability. Manager - Systems Administration, HCA - North Florida Division April 2008 – March 2016 Researched and piloted cutting-edge technology supporting VMware server virtualization, Citrix thin client app delivery, and more. Influenced performance metrics and reduced the physical server footprint & cost while improving the clinical and end-user experience. Led 14 system administrators managing 1,600+ servers that support critical patient care applications & services for 24 hospitals.

• Planned and executed VMware training for 14 systems administrators to jointly learn the topic and develop the division’s virtualization standards in a team construct. Saved $ 10,000 & exponentially decreased the timeline for modernization.

• Planned, purchased, installed, and configured the division’s VM installation within the HCA regional data center. Led the planning and execution of fiber channels, switches, physical servers, power, and rack space infrastructure to ensure HA by redundancy throughout and logically within VMware. Led and developed the VMware server farm to 6 clusters with over 32 hosts supporting > 1200 VMs, interfaces, databases, and cloud services. Delivered multimillion-dollar cost savings.

• Managed and owned licensing/compliance for the division and its hospitals to include the accounting of > 2.1 million dollars in annual licensing for Microsoft products alone. • Implemented Microsoft’s WSUS and dynamic patching strategies to enhance system configuration, significantly reducing the risk footprint, followed by piloting SCCM as a replacement for WSUS.

• Managed and implemented a KPI dashboard on antivirus, patching, nonsecure shares, and other security risks to identify priority areas for action by facility technical staff.
