Leading the Operations and Development side of the company in all junctures of activities. Reporting directly to the CEO on Financial and Technical as well as logistics and manufacturing processes within the company.

Project Manager, New Building Construction/General Manager, Operations

CODE ELECTRIC GROUP, Port Coquitlam BC 2013–2016

Liaised with City Officials, Inspectors, Contractors and Provincial and Municipal AHJ’s.

Managed all aspects of the building project on behalf of the owners, set objectives and target dates.

Worked with Owners and Contractors to resolve areas of concern and points of contradiction.

This project was completed successfully, on time and on budget.

Helped manage the complete move of all divisions to the new facility.

At the culmination of this project was ultimately asked to stay on staff as the new General Manager, Operations.

FAB-ALL METAL FINISHING, Pitt Meadows BC 2011–2013

Operation was suffering repeated monthly losses due to a number of factors.

Reviewed and gained numerous proficiencies in Vendor and Suppliers lines.

Review and implementation of applicable SRED programs where applicable ($70,000 Recovered).

Vice President, Operations

DMI DISABILITY MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE, Port Coquitlam BC 2008–2010

Doubled the size of the Port Coquitlam office by negotiating the acquisition of a 10,000 square foot adjacent space. Researched sites for a regional office in Ontario and brought this office online.

Expanded staff size from 7 in 2008 to 30 in 2010, commensurate with the increase in overall business. Oversaw all recruiting, hiring, and orientation. Established key performance indicators and training goals with the President and VP Disability. Provided ongoing coaching and mentoring.

Assumed control of an online database implementation that had lost focus and had stalled. Resurrected the project and launched the application in 4 months. Managed concurrent version rollouts and system enhancements.

Rebuilt the entire IT infrastructure and communications processes. Physically separated DMI and FCC (Fenchurch Claims Centre) into 2 distinct systems and virtualizations.

Sourced, acquired, and implemented a comprehensive HR software solution that supported company growth.

Also developed and oversaw the FCC Division, including Operations, HR, hiring and IT.

Vice President, Operations

KOSTKLIP MANUFACTURING, Port Coquitlam BC 2007–2008

Revived a 12-month ERP system implementation project that had frozen. Assembled a team and launched the full system with a complete physical inventory audit in a shortened timeline to coincide with fiscal year-end.

Achieved considerable cost reductions and major improvements in JiT performance by restructuring the logistics program and vendor supply chain.

Improved the efficiency of warehouse operations by redesigning the floor layout and improving process flow.

Provided leadership and direction to approximately 25 employees including an IT manager, purchasing manager, and warehouse manager. Recruited and hired several new managers and line staff.

PRECISION METALFORM, Port Coquitlam BC 2005–2007

Acquired additional space and negotiated leasehold improvements for staff and production growth. Developed and implemented enhancements to the risk management and security programs.

Integrated software enhancements into industry-specific systems for mechanical punches and brakes. Managed and upgraded an existing database. Involved in the Installation of a $2M Trumpf CNC punch.

Provided ongoing support and consultation to business development, sales and marketing, technical production, process management, and accounting and payroll. Engaged in strategic planning with the President.

Supervised a team of 10 in Customer Service, IT, QA and Purchasing. Instrumental in the recruitment and hiring of Senior Buyer and several administrative staff.

Vice President, Business Development General Manager, Canadian Operations

PWS CORPORATION Inc., Pitt Meadows BC 2001–2005

Grew the number of retail franchises from 9 to 28, while also closing 2 underperforming locations. Extended the chain from BC to Ontario and led the company to #1 in Canada for total number of retail outlets. Designed local radio, national print, and global internet marketing programs. Achieved a positive cash position in 10 months.

Researched and selected 20 new location sites, involved in conducting lease negotiations, and was involved in the development and construction/renovation of retail buildings and lots.

Setup and administered wholesale distribution systems, including space and consignment programs, with leading manufacturers across North America.

Provided direct leadership and guidance to all franchisees in Canada, in addition to a build-out manager, operations manager, training manager, sales and marketing manager, office administrator, and in-house accountant.

Negotiated the sale of the company to its largest US competitor and fulfilled all transitional commitments to new owners. Company is now the largest bottled water franchise chain in North America.

Vice President, Production

CANADIAN SPRINGS WATER COMPANY, Richmond BC 1998–2001

Served as lead project manager overseeing the design and construction of a state-of-the-art, multimillion-dollar production facility in Richmond, the largest of its type in Canada. Coordinated work of contractors, consultants, and sub-trades. Developed RFPs and qualified vendors. Completed project on budget and on schedule.

Participated in complex negotiations for the merger/acquisition of several competitors. Engineered the seamless integration of acquired companies into existing facilities.

Provided leadership to approximately 80 employees including a quality control manager, service manager, purchasing manager, and all plant managers. Hired several managers and line staff.

Implemented a new occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system and aided in an ERP system upgrade.

EARLY EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

Progressed through multiple positions in operations, safety and training, and maintenance with BC Rapid Transit Company, operator of the SkyTrain public transit system in the Lower Mainland over my 14-year tenure. Gained extensive experience in technical/electrical, hydraulic, welding and mechanical repairs, emergency services, communications, incident investigations, occupational health and safety, and collective bargaining. Founding member and Chairperson of the SkyTrain Safety Advisory Committee.

Served as the track services manager for the first 3 years of the annual Molson Indy in Vancouver.

Proficient with MS Office up to and including current versions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note and Outlook), as well as MS Project.

Competent with graphic design software such as CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe PageMaker. Limited experience with architectural design applications such as AutoCAD, EDrawings, and SolidWorks.
