●61.5% increase in tonnage per diem in the Pellet Mill from 80 tons to 130+ tons

Started turnaround by cleaning and reorganizing the facility, increased ventilation and air circulation to align with safety guidelines, implemented partial plant automation. $600M+ manufacturer of hardwood pallets headquartered in Vienna, OH with two divisions currently consisting of 34 production sites in 12 states throughout Central & Eastern United States. Millwood purchased single location Graham Pallet in 2010. Vertically integrated in land management and timber through Sherwood Forestry & Land Management. 28 pallet repair plants and 6 new pallet manufacturing plants. White side (New pallet plants are double to triple in size of blue side (repaired).

Corporate Director Raw Material Procurement and Sales Jul 2016 – Jan 2019

Promoted to corporate level to head up a new start-up division overseeing material procurement and by-product sales for 27 plants in 12 states. Identified new industry trends and leveraged opportunities to establish by-product sales. Collaborated cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to identify and pursue opportunities. In addition to managing Tompkinsville, KY plant, promoted to oversee Millwood Forestry & Land Management logging crew, land & timber, and buying tracks to synergize approach to pallet production at Millwood’s largest complex. Supervision of Timber Buyer & Procurement Manager, logging & cutting crew, and log yard operations bringing total team size up to 150 employees. Full P&L for plant and timber supply & management. Logging crews were doing in excess of 5 loads daily. Worked with Government agencies to comply with regulation on proper logging and restoration processes. Additional responsibilities of listing and selling real estate after logging.

Tompkinsville became #1 in the division out of 27 plants

Duel-site responsibility as Interim Plant Manager for Waverly, OH, temporarily moved logging crew of Timber Buyer and 3 Foresters to stabilize supply chain increasing from 15 suppliers to 30 suppliers

Plant Manager Aug 2012 – May 2015

Promoted to Plant Manager of full Tompkinsville, KY facility over Sawmill, Cut Shop, and Build center. Traditionally Millwood’s poorest performing plant since its acquisition in 2010. Managed 9 direct reports over team of 110. Oversight of daily production metrics to ensure proper flow of materials between divisions to achieve daily pallet production goals. Full P&L responsibilities as well as daily reconciliations of all dept production numbers with further responsibilities including HR, trucking, EPA compliance, invoice & accounts payable review, and ERP implementation processes.

Increasing output of production by 148.2%%, increased loads of pallets from 29 per week to 72.

Promoted to manage the Sawmill, which consisted of half the daily operation, alongside the Cut Shop and Build Center. Oversaw team of 25 employees across 2 shifts including 2nd Shift Supervisor. Managed daily operations and oversaw the purchase of heavy equipment, implemented process improvements, supervised department budget, long-term strategic planning, supervised Log Buyer and worked closely with log suppliers.

Addressed 60% waste issue by prioritized log procurement and adjusted end-of-log diameter minimums from 4” to 6” simultaneously increasing production and reducing waste.

Converted from grinding scrap to chipping increasing value of by-products by $5.00 a ton.

58% increase in Sawmill production from 14.5K ft daily to over 24k with 1 shift.

Addition of 2nd shift with peak daily production reaching 800K-1M ft.

Special Projects Manager Sep 2010 – Feb 2012

Initially hired as 1099 consultant to assess newly purchased Graham Pallet plant in Tompkinsville, KY which was acquired to be the ‘gateway to the south” expanding sales to the South and Southeast. Determine current status of facility and machines, make recommendations for daily operations, CAPEX improvements, P&L consultation and supply chain advisement. Later hired on as full-time W2 employee to continue the progress in Tompkinsville, KY plant and became more involved in hands-on day-to-day operations and continuing to implement new processes and procedures.
