I am looking for new experiences! I am retired from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service after 22 years. I have always had a love of books, research and attention to detail. I would love the opportunity to be on your team!

Work Experience

Defense Finance and Accounting Service 2007 to 2017

I was an accounting technician for 10 years. In that position I researched payments due to vendors by verifying many facets of an invoice. Making sure policy, procedures and the contract all agree on the payment. In doing I used 6 different software programs and databases to complete my research. The work was detail oriented and required a lot of organization. Completing reports consisted of gathering data to ensure the request was not a duplicate. My area was responsible for reducing vendor errors.

My career was extensive with the federal government in accounting roles. My customer service skills were honed when I learned to treat everyone as a customer. The coworkers in my department, throughout the DFAS community reaching all the way to the final stop…the vendor. All the accounting meant close attention to detail. I learned to double check everything.

I am proficient in Microsoft products. I have used them throughout my career. I have a working knowledge of Sage and Matrixcare accounting software. Recently I have worked with Foundation software.

YMCA 2019 -2023

Working at the YMCA as a Membership Experience Specialist I worked at the front desk. I greeted the esrly morning clientele as they came to exercize. I gave guided tours of the facility to new members . I created new memberships in Daxko. and did maintenance on accounts when needed.

2023 Creative Financial Staffing Gimbal

As an Accoints Payable Clerk I Worked the process of receiving vendor invoices throught gmail and preparing them to forward to the next step in the process. A software named Stampli that read the invoices and released them for input purposes. I verified all the information on the invoice and sent it off for payment. Working in Gmail I answered other dept emails when they wanted research on an invoice.
