Dear Sir / Madame,

I would like to formally apply for the teacher position in the Primary or Middle School Section. I have extensive teaching experience not only in IB schools but also in other well-ranked schools in the last 20 years.

Since then, I have held different positions in the three schools’ sections: Pre-primary, Primary and Bach, and even at the university level. During my tenure I have developed exceptional technical, academic, professional and personal skills, and have implemented new teaching methods, approaches and techniques on the different academic levels, for instance, the TFU (Teaching for Understanding) and the PYP (Primary Years Program) and MYP (Middle Years Program) both approaches based on Conceptual teaching and learning.

I have a demonstrated ability to work collegially with leaders across different grades and sections. In addition, I have been responsible for the success of the different teams I have led, such as the Bilingual Program Coordination at La Colina School in all sections and the English Department Coordination (Bilingual Project) through all sections at Berchmans School (23 teachers). These leading positions encourage me to participate in a more active and supportive way in the PYP and MYP Programs at Colegio Colombo Britanico for 14 years as a teacher, mentor and Grade Coordinator. Moreover, I have experience in the Dual Language Program in Buncombe County, NC not only as a teacher but also as a Dual Language Leader for the county.

Additionally, to my extensive teaching career, this one has been complemented through continuous academic achievements such as the Modern Languages Bachelor s Degree, Bilingual Education Diploma and the Master’s Degree in Linguistics and Spanish. Currently, I am a Linguistics and Spanish Doctoral Candidate.

These are just a few examples of my accomplishments. I hope that you will find that this brief view, in combination with my performance and my colleagues comments describe a dedicated employee with the experience and skills to meet or exceed the requirements of the position.

I appreciate your consideration and looking forward to discussing this opportunity for working with you at your convenience. Please review the resume I am enclosing here. It would be a totally enriching experience for me.

Sincerely,

Jair Hinojosa A.
