SUMMARY: I have over 25 years of experience in medical and legal transcription and secretarial skills and have spent the last year employed by Berks County in Court Information Management. Judicial Administrative Assistant to the Honorable Patrick T. Barrett

●Generates legal correspondence, orders, opinions, memoranda, agreements, petitions, and other documents from input of Judge or other source material; edits and proofreads content of such papers and corrects typographical mistakes; may transcribe dictated correspondence, documents, and other items; reviews legal documents for completeness, timeliness, approvals, supporting material, and other procedural requirements needed for consideration; establishes and maintains office files of such materials for staff use; prepares indexes of such files for staff use; provides organizational and related support to members of the judiciary; assists associated staff members in the legal and/or judicial processing of cases, opinions and other actions; prepares bi-weekly time sheets for assigned Judge's staff; processes paperwork for official filings and distribution to related offices and individuals both within and outside of the Court; prepares daily and monthly schedules; month-end reports as requested; orders supplies as needed. Preparation of materials for use by Judge: includes computer input and use of various computer programs, such as MS Word, MS Excel, CPCMS, etc., general knowledge of HTML and web publishing.

●Notifies attorneys of need for hearings, conferences, trials; coordinates schedules of assigned Judge and all attorneys involved; schedules conferences; secures meeting room; notifies/calls all parties of date, time and place; makes arrangements for any needed equipment or other support; prepares summaries of background information in such cases for use in those conferences. Facilitates efficient flow of personal and Court schedules. Ensures Judge’s schedules and procedures successfully coexist with other Judges and overall County business.

●Answers questions from other court departments, judicial districts, county offices, and attorneys. Orients and trains other judicial or administrative staff as needed. ●Supervision of 5 employees, civil and criminal to include waivers, arraignments, argument court, assignment of Judges, imaging, etc.

●Process payroll and maintain benefit time for all of Courts including all judicial staff, 120+ employees.

●Administrator for arbitrations to include scheduling, continuances, payment of arbitrations to chairperson and arbitrators, and upkeep of attorney CLE courses.

●Administrator for Berks County Mortgage Foreclosure Diversion Program to include facilitating negotiations between attorneys, housing counselors and conciliators.

●Assign conflict counsel and court appointed counsel for murder cases in Berks County. Keep Chambers aware of active cases and rotation schedule.

●Manage Pennsylvania State Report 703 which is open cases for all Judges over 45 days that gets reported to AOPC.

●Communicate with all departments in Court House including all Chambers and relate information to Judges, staff, and other employees with regards to court information.

●Process all security requests for the civil and criminal computer systems for all employees.

●Facilitator, developer, and administrator of Discovery Master Program.
