Objective:
Looking for part-time employment. I retired after approximately 40 years working in the Nuclear Power Industry. I recently moved to New Mexico and find that I now miss the work environment.
Skills and Abilities:
Leadership: I have worked in a high stress environment and was able to lead an intelligent and self-confident work team to meet the company objectives and goals.
Communication: Communicated (orally and in writing) with employees, other Managers, Upper Management, Regulators and the general public regarding status of day to day operations, projects, goals and objectives.
Management: During my career I was, at times, responsible for over 40 employees, both professional and technical, a budgets of several million dollars.
Experience:
I have spent 40 years working in the Radiation Protection Section, Maintenance Section and Regulatory Compliance Section in various Nuclear Power Plants. While some of the skills necessary to perform my functions is not directly transferable to my current work search, I am a motivated self-starter who comes to work each day ready to perform my required duties. I work well with others and will communicate issues to my superiors.
Prior to starting my career in Nuclear Power I worked in sales, drove a Newspaper delivery truck, worked in the fast food industry and was a bartender in a restaurant/lounge.
Education:
B.S. Radiological Health Physics from Lowell Technological Institute (Currently known as the University of Massachusetts - Lowell).
Activities:
Prior to moving to New Mexico (from Ohio), I was active in my church serving on the Parish Council (as President for several years), taught in the Parish School of Religion and was a Eucharistic Minister.
Summary:
I am an employee who shows up for their assigned shifts ready to perform my required duties. Because I am retired and over 65 years old I do not require benefits such as Health Insurance. I am patient and working because I want to work, not out of necessity.
