Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary in the ICU, Med Surg., Oncology, Oncology ICU, and Pulmonary- Responsibilities were to assist the nurses in bathing patients, answering call lights, help feed patients if needed, take vital signs, transport patients to other units, document intake and out take of the patient, and deliver any updates about the patients to the nurses. As a Unit Secretary I was responsible for answering the unit phones, taking orders, calling doctors, and organizing charts for the doctors and nurses. I was also an Emergency Room Tech and responsibilities included my responsibilities checking patients into rooms, taking their labs, EKG’s, and transporting them in the hospital.

Anesthesia Tech, Sterile Processing, OR Technologist- The responsibilities as an anesthesia tech was to help with turnovers in the OR after a case, change the tubing on the anesthesia machine and stock the carts when the day was done. The responsibilities in sterile processing were to clean and prepare the instruments for surgery. I assisted in organizing the instrument sets, wrapping the sets and labeling them to be sterilized for the next day of surgery. The responsibilities as an OR tech was to set up the operating room for sterility, gowning and gloving the surgeon and their assistants, draping the patient for surgery, counting the sharps and the instruments used during surgery, and of course assisting the surgeon during the procedure.
03/2008-10/2008- Louisville Orthopedics Surgery Center- Louisville, KY
Part time OR Tech- Responsibilities were to set up the operating room for sterility, gown and glove the surgeon, assist the surgeon during the procedure. At Louisville Orthopedics we focused on sports medicine, knee scopes, shoulder cases, rotator cuffs, SLAP repairs, closed reduction, and open reductions. We also had the privilege of maintaining the instruments and instrument sets, and the autoclaves. Being a small surgery center we also were called to maintain the cleanliness of the OR’s stocking the rooms for the next day of surgery, and pulling cases for the next day. I had the honor of working with very smart and educated orthopedic surgeons that I developed a professional relationship with at this facility as well as Jewish East.
11/2007-2012- Louisville Surgery Center Plastics and Anesthetics-Louisville, KY
Full Time OR Tech- My responsibilities included maintaining every instrument we own, maintenance of the autoclaves and sterile machine, the surgeons preference cards, assisting in all kinds of surgeries, meeting with the reps that come in with new instruments, sending out any instrument that is in need of repair, decontaminating and sterilizing the instrument sets, and wrapping each instrument at the end of each surgery day. My responsibilities at Metro Specialty as an OR Tech were to set up the operating room for surgery, gown and glove the surgeon, drape the patient and assist the surgeon in the procedure. My responsibilities as the Materials Manager were to keep up with the inventory of all the medical supplies with in the surgery center as well as order all the supplies. I have continued to gain experience in the fields of Plastic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Spine Surgery, Hand Surgery, ENT Surgery, and Pain Cases as well.

Full time Sales Consultant for Medical Weight Loss and Hormone Therapy. My responsibilities were to establish a relationship with the patients while consulting them with Medical Weight Loss and Hormone Therapy. I would sell the patient a package for one or the other product and monitor them while they were in the product. I also had the responsibility of co-managing a location while other locations were expanding. I was the leading Sales Rep. due to my customer service ability and making the patient feel as though they were the most important patients.

Full Time Assistant to a Plastic Surgeon in Louisville Ky. My responsibilities are to assist him in every surgical procedure, see patients in consult, pre op, and post op. Communicate to the hospitals or surgical facilities we go to that all the equipment he will need is there. Work very closely with Reps with all companies. Order all medical supplies for the office and have everything ready for the day. My main responsibility is to ensure the doctor is set up for success so he can focus on his artistry and enjoy his practice. I have continued to gain experience in the field of surgery due to all of the procedures we do and studying for the cases prior to the surgical day.
