• Utilized standard PCR protocol by combining reagents and template to the tubes, centrifuge, evaluate DNA samples via gel electrophoresis followed by ethidium bromide staining
• Used pH meter after acid-base titration to identify concentration of specific unknown chemical compounds found in unknown sample
• Worked with BSL1 organisms, i.e, non-pathogenic E.Coli, fungi, and protozoa
• Grew various agar growth plates to culture specific microorganisms (bacilli streptococcus, E.coli, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, etc) through serial dilutions to determine colony growth and concentration in prepared samples. Samples were analyzed using plate readers to test the metabolism and response to various environmental factors. In addition, colonies were counted to determine concentration to compare to safety standards.
• Measured enzyme activity with the ELISA spectrophotometer to determine the reaction rate of antigens and antibodies.
