Provided testimony to the Orlando City Council in favor of their proposed Building Energy and Water Efficiency Strategy sustainability ordinance. The measure passed 5-2 and is now part of the City Charter.
Performed a cost/benefit analysis on the use of battery energy storage as a load shifting strategy for a local college campus. Results showed that the energy lost due to charging and discharging of the battery equaled the benefit of the avoided electric demand charges, yielding no net benefit.
