Resume:

May **th, ****

Dear Hiring manager, my name is Christina Scott, and I would like to apply for the Administrative Specialist 2-Facility Administrative Assistant position.

I am currently working for the state of Oregon in Child Protective Services as a case worker. I have spent my life working with children and families in social service positions both with public agencies and the private sector. In each of my opportunities to serve I gained extensive experience and knowledge in details and recording information, seen, heard and perceived. I have managed several offices, departments, and organizations. I have been in leadership positions hiring, training, allocating monies, organizing fundraisers, and coordinating staff and volunteers. I have also tracked accounts, created invoices, researched insurance coverage, generated monthly billings statements, secured delinquent accounts, and managed service contractors.

In my current position as a case worker in CPS I use my many years of communicating with children and adults to compile data from different sources, i.e., interviews, medical records, and law enforcement reports to create comprehensive reports that are used in court and become legal documents. In my last position working with Senior & Disability Services my first year was spent as an administrative assistant. I answered phones, emails and followed several TEAMS chats, and tracked and created documents to provide customer service to our clients. I was part of a very busy team assuring the eligibility workers and case workers were able to do their jobs serving our clients with DHS services. I took front desk and phone shifts and provided excellent customer service in person and on the phone.

The second year I joined the ADRC unit and continued administrative duties, adding information and resource services. I worked one on one with families helping them find long term care for their senior and disabled loved ones. I was also the housing specialist for our Eugene office, coordinating with the community to ensure our clients were provided the most up-to-date information on low income and senior housing. I primarily worked by phone but also saw clients in person and communicated through mail and email. I used my administrative skills as I directed youth education with Unity of the Valley, coordinated construction jobs in five states with Lee Built Construction, running the front office and assisting with cases at the US attorney’s office, assisting the staff at Lane Community College in the Language Department and many other volunteer and paid positions before that.

In college I took Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Law, Communications, and speech classes. I have used that knowledge to further my understanding and compassion for people in general, and those that need an advocate for the choices of others. I bring a variety of relevant communication and administrative skills gained from working in the government, construction, medical, legal, and human services fields and am well versed in several state programs.

I look forward to meeting with you to explore how I can be of service to your team.

Sincerely,

Christina Scott 541-***-**** **********.******@*****.***
