WORK EXPERIENCE
1997 – 2009: Worked at Matero First Level Hospital (formerly Matero Reference Health Centre) at both Out-patient and In-patient Department which included:
Pediatric ward (bed capacity: 30 beds/patients).
Female and male medical wards (bed capacity of 30 beds/patients).
DUTIES
My duties involved:
Bed side nursing: assessing and observing patients, giving prescribed treatment and carrying out nursing procedures.
Most general nursing activities like child care and outreach programmes such as conducting clinics for under-five children to far places, where health facilities are not easily accessible.
Working at antiretroviral therapy (ART) department where I administered the following:
i.Voluntary counseling and testing (VCT).
ii.Counseling HIV patients on ARV treatment on the importance of adherence to treatment and to honour their review dates.
iii.Doing follow-ups to see how the HIV patients are faring and many more.
iv.Assessed the patients’ identification (ID) numbers.
v.Completed patient charts.
vi.Reviewed patient charts for correct entries and completeness.
vii.Arranged for follow up plans of patients who missed appointments.
2012 – 2015: Acted as Out-patient In-charge at Matero First Level Hospital.
2016 to date: Working at Matero First Level Hospital at the Maternity Wing (Labour Ward) as a midwife.
