ACTIVITIES
Computer Science instructor/ volunteer – KMC Empowering Education
• As a tutor/mentor I create age-appropriate lesson plans, that are based on the PA keys
learning standards; to strengthen students’ academic development. I help students to
accurately complete their homework assignments. As part of our STEM curriculum I
teach group and individualized computer literacy lessons.
• I also act as the “in house tech” I configure, manage, monitor, maintain and update all
computers. I ensure that data remains confidential by ensuring that all computers have
the latest software updates; and that the latest antivirus software is installed.
ITT Technical Institute Tutor – Specializing in Electronics Engineering courses
• As a tutor of various subjects (electronics primarily) my goal is help students feel more
confident in their ability to learn a subject, overcome the area in which they are having
trouble in and maintain a suitable grade. I accomplish this by first establishing an active
communication link between my student and myself, so that we can schedule tutoring
sessions. Then I identify the area in which my student is struggling in and then review
the basic concepts of that specific area with my student. I try to convert and simplify the
complex concepts into an easy to grasp concept, so that they can begin to understand
the material more effectively.
