Championed data analysis on AMI, SCADA, time series and historian data in accordance with utility SMEs.

Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI):

EPRI is an independent non-profit energy research organization. The project elaborated on predictive methods for lifespans of oil-circuit reclosers (OCRs) on the smart grid. The challenge was that OCRs were not smart devices.

Crafted predictive analytic and maintenance models based on parameters collected from smart devices on the same ACLineSegment neighboring the OCRs.

Constructed user interface and Power BI reports.

Consumers Energy (CE):

CE provides electricity and natural gas to residents in Michigan. The project was part of CE revenue protection initiatives specifically in the area of theft detections.

Engineered analytic models to analyze AMI consumption, tamper events and outage data to calculate the probability of energy theft and other revenue disruption events.

Successfully validated model to 85% accuracy by comparing model output with actual customer complaints using historical data.

Architected rule based engine to fine tune parameters, cross reference historical data and usage patterns for analytic models.

Tech stack included Java, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, ML anomaly detection models.

GE Digital:

GE Digital provides software and industrial internet of things services to industrial companies. The project was a joined POC with GE Power to demonstrate storm preparedness and readiness of electrical equipments on smart grids.

Collected weather forecast, historical weather and forecast, distribution network, AMI, outage and sensor data to provide a risk assessment model down to a 6 miles by 6 miles township granularity.

Constructed interactive workbench to “playing back” historical storm progressions and their impacts on equipments.

Successfully presented to CEO of General Electric and exhibited in DistribuTech 2018.

2.Principal Architect, Bit Stew Systems, from GE Digital. (www.bitstew.com). Mountain View, CA (11/2011 – 05/2016).

Industrial internet of things and smart energy. Founding member of the Bit Stew engineering team and R&D group in the CTO office.
