Thesis title : Impact of solar water pumping system on farmers income: A comparative study of conventional irrigation system vs. micro irrigation system
Summary : As part of my thesis research, I examined energy productivity, water productivity, and cultivation costs for mangoes, bananas, and cotton under drip irrigation and flood irrigation in Gujarat. Further, the study examined the factors that influence farmers to adopt solar water pumping systems as well as the challenges they face after adopting such a system. Based on the findings of the study, farmers who installed solar water pumps along with drip irrigation had higher water productivity, higher energy productivity, lower cultivation costs, and produced a higher yield than their flood-irrigated counterparts. It has also been reported that the income of farmers who use solar energy with micro irrigation has increased as compared to farmers who use flood irrigation. Farmers were influenced to adopt solar water pumping systems by government initiatives and electrical issues. There were issues with the panels in some farmers' fields. It is my hope that my study will provide assistance to the farming community to raise awareness and influence them to adopt solar energy with micro irrigation systems. In addition, it will provide assistance to the government to formulate policies that will facilitate the provision of solar power and micro irrigation systems. MASTER’S RESEARCH

Thesis title : Awareness, adoption and farmers purchase intention towards water soluble fertilizers in Trichy district Summary : My thesis research examined awareness, adoption, and purchase intentions of water-soluble fertilizers among banana growers in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. A further investigation was conducted to examine the constraints faced by farmers following the adoption of water-soluble fertilizers. According to the study, 56 percent of adopters were highly aware of the benefits of KICL water-soluble fertilizers, while only 8 percent of non-adopters were aware of them. Water soluble fertilizers adoption is influenced by three factors, namely promotional activities, irrigation facilities, and efficacy levels. Consumers' preferences for water-soluble fertilizers are largely influenced by the price and quality of the product. There was a high price for water-soluble fertilizers which was one of the greatest constraints facing banana growers in the Trichy district.
