Summary of Work
Over 40 years of design and construction management experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Controls for the Food, Paper, Steel, and Oil Industries. This also included mechanical equipment layouts with fabrication of components necessary for production line installations with detail involvement of placing new equipment in existing floor space. These projects evolved from conception to final installation with production start up. Also have experience in assisting plant maintenance teams in the documentation and trouble shooting of existing processes. Documentation details involve the creation and generation of Flow Sheets, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, Elementary Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Instrument Loops, Data Sheets, Control Narratives, Logic Diagrams, Conduit Raceway Diagrams, Instrument Device Location Layouts, Electrical Control Panel Layouts, Mechanical Equipment Installation Details, and Production Line Layouts.
Documentation for engineering design has been achieved using current versions of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, along with some use of Microstation and Solid Works. Also familiar with Promis*e, Rebis, and VIA Development software for electrical design. Extensive use of Microsoft Office components such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, & Outlook, along with Microsoft Project for scheduling proposes.
Coordinated design, material specification, material ordering, fabrication, and installation through outside installation contractors and assisted in start-up and commissioning of process automation control systems along with power distribution systems. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) types used have been Modicon, Allen Bradley, and Giddings & Lewis, along with various touch screen Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and SCADA reporting systems. Software used has been ProWorks +, Wonderware, RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, RSView ME, & RSLinks. Experienced with Allen Bradley and Square D Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Communications Networks include Modbus+, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet, and Profibus. Distributed Control Systems (DCS) experience includes Honeywell TDC 2000, Beckman Industrial, Bailey, Delta V and Foxboro. Power Distribution experience with 13.8kv and lower.
