EXPERIENCE

Eastman Chemical Company Longview, Tx. Lead Operator 12/5/1989 - 4/17/2023

I started my career in the bagging department, I worked there for two years.

I then moved into Operations and was on the Startup Team at Eastman’s new LLDPE plant. I helped commission the plant. My first job there was Catalyst Manufacturing. Here I made either LLDPE or HDPE Catalyst. I also changed out cylinders, ran a distillation column, changed out filters, locked out various equipment. This was an outside job. I then moved inside, at this time Eastman was still using PROVOX control system. I became proficient with PROVOX. I then moved to Outside Reactor Operator, where I caught samples of our products, monitored various equipment, prepared equipment for repair, and brought equipment back on line. I then moved back inside to Reactor Driver, where I drove the reactor, made prepoly, completed formula changes, started up and shutdown the plant. Then I moved to Outside Extruder Operator where I monitored the Extruder Operation, hung different additive bags, made AO mixes,changed filters, and made adjustments to Extruder to produce good clean pellets. I then moved back inside to be Extruder Driver, where I started and shut down the Extruder, started the appropriate feeders depending on the formula, made Catalyst Batches, and monitored pressures, temperatures, and other process variables. Eastman swapped to DELTA V control system around 2014, I became proficient with DELTA V. Over the course of my career at Eastman I trained and mentored many young operators who became great operators, and are well respected. EDUCATION

I completed the Eastman Apprenticeship Program in 1995. DELTA V SWAP OVER

I was chosen to help with this swap over. I went to St Louis to learn and be trained on Delta V, upon returning to the plant I trained other operators on using Delta V.

PROCEDURE UPDATES

Because I was the longest tenured start up operator, I updated the SOP’s to account for changes that were made over the years. SKILLS
