Summary of Job Description:
PMC QC Engineer: ( Piping )
Routinely study, check, review and validate the discipline scope of work against the appropriate contract Requisition to ensure the contractors
correctly interpret and comply with the latest revision AFC drawings.
Ensure all quality control checks and tests are instigated with records maintained and available as required for underground metallic and non-metallic pipes (GRE, GRP), pre and post-test checks, hydrostatic testing, flushing and drying, safety relief valve installation etc. all in accordance with contractor’s agreed ITP, method statement and project specifications.
Identify the hand over sequence on a system by system, area by area basis, all scheduled to produce logically planned work completion for commissioning and start –up requirements.
Attend final Mechanical walk down and Construction completion walk down with contractor.
Strict implementation of Company Safety rules and guidelines to achieve a Zero LTI projects.
Maintain logs and files on contractor site instruction ( CSI ), Technical queries, submittals, correspondence, project drawings, project specification, As Built stick files and vendor drawing files.
Participate in safety walkdowns and audits.
Conduct line walk thru with contractor representatives as per piping package request for inspection.
Attended steam flushing, final reinstatement of piping packages as per sub system.
Mechanical/Piping Inspector:
Attend IR (Inspection Request) on both piping & mechanical activity and update daily progress report through PIMS (Project Information Management system).
Carry out punch listing during pre- test and post- test punch list.
Inspection of Equipment’s internals and externals and associated structures and ensures that preservations and maintenance schedule has been complied and that all equipment listed is preserved and maintained in accordance with guarantee requirements of all vendors.
Conduct inspections for final alignment of pipes on pumps, compressor nozzles.
Inspection of static equipment’s as per mechanical work packs and project specification.
Witness testing of pumps, fans and blowers, and compressor alignment reading or any other mechanical checks.
Witness Pneumatic, hydro static, and highpressure leak testing using nitrogen-helium as per company approved procedure.
Inspection of piping completeness (Process and Utility) prior to pre-mechanical activities
Walk through of piping system, re-instatement of lines and associated piping components after pre- mechanical completion activities.
Review of piping test packages and dossiers, system checking and verification of closed out punch items prior to issuance of system mechanical completion certificate.
Perform site surveillance during commissioning stages and ensure compliance with project specification in relation to safety, quality and schedule. Enforce strict compliance of worker to company safety rules.
QA/QC Engineer:
Conduct visual / dimensional inspection based on applicable drawing standards and codes.
Check/ witness all NDT if all requirements are met and ensure that welding works are carried out by qualified personnel in accordance with the approved WPS and these welding consumables are sound and fully certified and properly stored with all the records are maintained.
Participate in implementation of site surveillance and verification programs including each of the sub- contractor groups.
To asses contractors work process and verify contractor and works products in accordance with their approved quality program.
Inspect the internal and external of equipment’s. Monitor and inspect according to the inspection and test plan for the entire equipment erection and installation.
Inspection of preliminary coupling alignment (rotary equipment’s) witness mechanical testing.
Witness piping pressure test and inspection of the line during test to check if there is any leakage on line joints and ensure adequate safety pre caution are observed for the duration of test and make sure the area are cleared for any personnel that are not involved in the test and keep the complete data record of the test.
Prepare punch list relative to the inspection giving a full description of non-conformance item or condition and re-inspect when rectification is completed.
Field Engineer (Mechanical /Piping)
Supervision of mechanical and piping construction and installation works.
Ensure construction works complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.
Over seeing sub- contractor and tracking progress of production, performance evaluation and monitoring schedules.
Conduct line checking, punch listing work as necessary determined test packs for process and ensured its compliance with piping flow diagrams.
Continually find solutions to conflict in drawings and specification by conferring with the consultants Coordinate these solutions to various sub-contractor
Supervision of final re instatement of all piping components including valves, in line instrument which have been removed or not install during or before pressure test.
Monitoring the physical progress of the project and ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the safety procedures and approved design plan and specifications.
Mechanical Engineer
Monitor and control the mechanical equipment installation to ensure compliance with the contract requirements relative to the design implementation, specification, schedules, quality, safety, health and environment.
Evaluate, select and apply standard construction engineering technique procedure and criteria using judgment based on all applicable codes.
Monitor the contractors during testing activities to ensure compliance with the agreed testing procedure.
Ensure the production and the acceptance of the necessary piping and mechanical documentation for inclusion in the final documentation package.
Attend the progress meeting with the contractor for mechanical discipline with correctional actions for target completion.
Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties to a safe manner.
