SUPPLY TECHNICIAN

I receive, review, and monitor incoming requisitions and verify condition, Code and Kind also noting availability of material for outstanding Shop Warehouse Movement System (SWMS) and NAVSE Warehouse Movement Form (WMF) orders. I process various modes of ERP transactions, including Goods Issues MIGO-GI-221/281/551, Goods Receipts-MIGO-GR 501 and MIGO-TR’s that include 551/309/952/LT01, as well as MIGO-952 for the processing of Frustrated freight on a daily basis.

I maintain oversight of all of my SWMS/WMF’s processed to insure that the actions are consistent with prescribed processes in place and to be aware of any inconsistencies along the way.

I perform causative research for material discrepancies, reviewing transaction histories, receipt documents to determine the cause of discrepancies, which includes but not limited to ensuring the accuracy of all documents and automated records including the timely processing of receipts for storage and shipments. I maintain statistical records of rejected and frustrated material, the time required to complete corrective action, and the frequency of different types of problems. When needed, I perform causative research and compile various operational statistics and supply performance metrics.

PACKER: I perform a variety of tasks involved in packing and repack non-hazardous and/or hazardous materials and items. I selects proper container and methods of packing, cushioning and follows specialized packing procedures. Examines any prepackaged items to determine whether any repack or over-packing is required, consolidates shipments; and applies certification, idbentification and shipping data. I apply a wide variety of packing methods and techniques including blocking and bracing based on the search and application of regulations covering the packing and transporting of hazardous materials. WOODWORKER: I used my knowledge of Equipment and Assemblies, Installation, Repair and Materials to fabricate/construct wooden boxes, crates and skids. I pack materials and equipment in wood boxes and or crates which required the use of wrappings, liners, cradles, chocks, yokes collars, cushioning, or other protective devices in accordance with established packing procedures. I check/verify the materials and equipment that are boxed/crated against shipping documents or invoices to ensure they are correct with the identification, quantity and condition, while building up crates that may require the precise cushioning and bracing to insure the appropriate protection is made. I position equipment and or materials onto supporting platforms using hoists, jib cranes, while requesting the assistance of riggers and crane operators when needed. I secure materials and equipment that are loaded onto trucks, flatbeds, containers with chocks, wood blocks, metal strapping and fasteners, and secures/braces structures to exteriors of irregular shapes and sizes and weight, for custom cut bracing. I have the ability to interpret written, oral instructions and blueprint specifications. I maintain proper care and accountability of the tools and equipment that that were assigned/issued to me, on a daily basIs.

I serve as a Transportation Assistant. I perform freight shipment and transportation support functions at both the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard-Bremerton and at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor. I have extensive working knowledge and experience using the Government Freight management (GFM) system. I maintain critical technical transportation experience to execute the orderly movement of shipments nationwide (CONUS), overseas (OCONUS) and between points of embarkation via surface and/or air transportation.

I have working knowledge with shipments that may require special handling, including but not limited to, security considerations, and accessorial services needed that require the consideration of several modes of transportation through all modes of transit, which include a combination of military, commercial or government carriers. I prepare and arrange for the shipments and deliveries of material to carriers. Using established procedures to arrange for the movement of freight, I Interpret and applies rules and regulations for rail, water, air and motor carrier tariffs, as applicable. I prepare bills of lading, reviews rated and routed and schedules routine shipments using readily available information. These shipments include all destinations, both nationwide and overseas shipments to air/seaports and consolidation points. I assign pertinent freight classification, material identification, accounting codes and related billing data before assigning to commercial carriers. I determine the classifications and determines legally applicable and most economical rates and routes for shipment of freight by any or all modes of transportation involving a wide variety of commodities for shipments to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

I prepare the necessary documentation/labels required for the shipment/transport of material by commercial or Government means. I perform offsite inspections of truckload material and provide assistance in the loading and offloading of trucks in support the shipping office and warehouse personnel.

I also have a working knowledge of SYNCADA. I process shipment and/or shipment billing information into SYNCADA and reconciliation of payments for our carriers on a weekly basis. I am responsible for pre-audit review, examination, and settlement of carrier bills and requests for reconsideration for such purposes of determining whether a legitimate and procedurally correct supplemental billing at the Kitsap Transportation office, Bangor Washington.

TRANSPORTATION OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS-AMMO 62.

I have extensive working knowledge experience in preparing documentation related to the movement of hazardous materials, including packaging and certification. I maintain a current certification for the Transportation of hazardous Materials-AMMO-62. I prepare and process all documentation, including but not limited to, the Declaration of Dangerous Goods (Certifications). I also assist in the assembling, packing, marking, affixing labels to shipping boxes, pallets, crates, etc. and placarding for shipping containers in accordance to prescribed regulations for IATA (Air), Vessel (IMDG) Military Air (AFMAN24-204(I) and 49CFR (ground transportation) in support of Naval Weapons System Command and the National Science Foundation.
