Jobs varied from day to day; Responsibilities of tool building; verify all parts of tool, make sure they’re up to new revisions, lay out the blueprint of the tool, and have the right doping mechanism to keep tool lubricated.

After tool is built, function test the tool with QC and third party to verify that the tool works properly with all the turns in and out.

Depending on the tool you’re building you will have to have a hydrostatic test, the test must remain constant throughout the test, that way you know your tool is built right. If you lose pressure while testing, it’s usually an O-ring torn up during assembly. If that happens you must go back tear the tool down and see what the problem was, replace what was wrong then re- function test it then re-hydro test.

After a successful hydrostatic test, remove tool from wellhead and put the finishing components to the tool then take it around to the ready area of the warehouse.

Also responsible for tear downs of tools coming back from offshore. Get the tool apart no matter what process it takes to come apart, then stage them at the wash rack to get cleaned, and ready for QC to take dimensions and get ready to be coated and ready to be re-built.

Make and Brake of drill pipe to the tools needed to go offshore, had to know how to run the buck up machine, continuous torque machine.

Also, build and tested capital equipment used for active Riser production stack ups. DX connectors and Riser Hydraulic Running Tools. Worked Assembly of building new Production Risers, putting the lines through the Riser in the right position to run, then function test the Riser.

Ran a CNC machine to pull the core from the stator, and also to relieve coworkers on CNC Rubber Injection machines.

Also worked in assembly of the stators. Got the core and tube ready for the oven, O-Rings ready for assembly. After assembly move stator to injection machine.

Worked QC for final stage stators, measure pipe, test the rubber inside the tube, check to see if the tube didn’t warp or bend during production.

09/2011 – 01/2013 Schlumberger – Dyna Drill Technologies Houston, TX

Stator Technician

Stator grit blasting, measure tubes roll them inside machine, make two passes through the tube with the grit blast then roll out the machine and move to tube prep.

Tube prep is painting the inside of the stator to decrease the risk of corrosion inside the once the rubber is injected. Two coats of adhesive are applied. Paint 1 coat then wait an hour to paint the second coat, then wait three to 24 hrs.’ after last coat applied to assemble.

Assembly consists of grabbing the tube from the coating booth and get the core from the oven. The core must be hot when assembling, between 175-225 degrees.

After assembly, move stator to injection machine. Next after injection, the stators are moved to curing, they will be placed in an autoclave for 3.5 hours. After it comes out of the autoclave it goes in the quench for one hour.

During disassembly, take stators out the quench, place stator on the bench to pull the core from the tube. Knock the back block off and start pulling slowly to remove core without pulling rubber out.

Place stator of rack ready for cut back; during cut back the router indicates how far to cut rubber back to customer satisfaction, then move core over to tooling to clean up and stage for later use.

Maintain work area and keep clean throughout the shift, I am very organized so I can get more work done efficiently.
