To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to take a moment to thank you for your time and consideration, while briefly introducing myself and outlining why I am seeking employment with your firm. Attached you will find my resume, I have many years of real world experience combined with the ability to quickly adapt to situations that more than make up for a degree. My past employment experiences, coupled with owning my own smaller general construction company will allow me to utilize the skills I have garnered to serve every aspect as outlined in the employment advertisement.

I have owned and operated my own general construction company for the past twenty years, perform numerous roles, from hands on carpentry, electrical, plumbing masonry, sales, accounting, estimating, management, safety coordination and individual that assumes total responsibility for the actions of the company and its representatives. Since the retirement of my main superintendant, changes in health care, ever increasing insurance rates, and the fact that I have reached a plateau with the size of my projects without having a partner or investor, I have decided that my skills could be better served within a larger firm with greater bidding capabilities. I am not a stranger to the hours it takes to make a company successful, and I also enjoy the challenge and tempo the larger jobs demand. I built my company up debt free, including a larger shop, more tools, equipment and vehicles increasing my bonding to $870,000.00 while maintaining liability and workers compensation coverage commensurate with public works projects, which further demonstrates my competency in fulfilling the role for your firm. I recently worked for Whelan and Curry Construction Services, Inc, for the last year. The largest single project was the Sterling Nature Center, as well as numerous private design build projects. The projects ranged from $5,000,000.00 all the way down to $75,000.00. I managed upwards of six projects simultaneously for about a total of $9,000,000.00. Much of my time has been spent estimating and working with the owners to develop projects from concept to the completion of their construction. I took this job on a contract basis and I am now interested in something more permanent. My time at Cellectric Electrical, LLC I served as their Civil Project Manager, simultaneously maintaining my company’s production schedule. During my time at Cellectric, I estimated all of the civil projects, sourced suppliers, materials, and equipment, hired and managed crews in Iowa, Maryland, New Hampshire, Virginia, Maine, Kentucky, and New York. I decided to leave Cellectric do to differing long term business goals and practices, and that more of the time was going to have to be spent out of state. There were generally seven crews that I managed, and were responsible for the completion of all work related to cell tower and 911 communication sites from raw land to turning over to the customer. This work included building of roads, tower, generator, fuel tank, and building foundations of various sizes and configurations, value engineering, all underground utility work, compaction and backfill, final grading and reclamation work. My company has done some light commercial and industrial projects, as well as all forms of residential construction, but our main focus were historic preservation and restoration projects. Over the years we completed small projects for both SUNY Morrisville, and Colgate University, as well as several for local school districts. I have also completed projects over the years for numerous municipalities, including Rome, Oneida, Utica, Cazenovia, Hamilton, Earlville, Sherburne, and Norwich. Some of our past projects include the installation of an engineered standing seam roof system for the Cazenovia Fire station, numerous EPDM roof systems for façade program buildings through SHIPO, for the villages of Cazenovia, Hamilton, Earlville, Sherburne, several also for the city of Oneida, and Norwich. We also performed numerous masonry repair projects along with roof window, door and siding for the village of Hamilton’s sewage treatment plant, and their electrical maintenance facility, and court house. Again I am comfortable in numerous roles as required to deal with, subs, suppliers, owners, architects, municipalities, business and employee development as well as many other facets of the construction industry. During the fall of 2018 and finishing in the spring of 2019, I was the Construction / Project Manager for the multiuse facility for Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Oriskany Falls, NY where I did the calculations and design for the electrical, HVAC, and plumbing of the facility, as well as guide the installation of the gymnasium floor system and interior finishes.

While working for Park City Builders, my largest single contract before change orders that I managed was SUNY Morrisville’s New Dairy Farm Complex at

$4,500,000.00. During that same time I was also running numerous other projects simultaneously of various dollar amounts. I also completed numerous projects for Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, including the Women’s Center, Operating and Surgical Center, major interior renovations, warehouse addition, Administration Building, numerous projects at various locations for the Church of the Latter-day Saints, and a 250,000 square foot addition to Alfred Publishing in Oriskany. I also served as the construction manager for a renovation project for the First Baptist Church of Hamilton, which was my first foray into the historic preservation aspect of work. Several of the projects I ran for Park City Builders were of the design build type, in which I was afforded the opportunity to perform the bulk of the design and management, which included Vantine Studios and numerous projects for Community Memorial Hospital, both in Hamilton. My past experience as the Assistant Facilities Manager for a small pharmaceutical plant, and numerous projects completed for Kendall Corporation, a previous pharmaceutical plant in Oriskany Falls also adds to my skill set for projects of all forms.

I am looking forward to be of service and take your business to the next level. Thank you again for your time and consideration on this endeavor. Sincerely,

Scott E. Davis
