Mr. Thompson taught concrete testing certification classes for the (ACI), American Concrete Institute for 8 years. This included training of over 3000 students and has written Masonry programs to pass I.C.B.O, and (ICC) International Code Council exams for Contractors Exam Centers. MR. Thompson has written instruction manuals for soil and concrete technicians for in-the field. Trainer to apprentices in Operating Engineers Union Local 12.

Mr. THOMPSON / CAREER HISTORY
From 2021 to 2023 provided CM/QA on behalf of the Caltrans and the City of Torrance. This project was removing PCH and Hawthorne Blvd. Then replacing it with CTB, AC, and High Early Concrete. Duties also included all CM/QA related items, including but not limited to, Signage replacement, Demolition, Striping, Traffic Control, Message Boards, all Asphalt, Soil, Base, Concrete, Fiber Optics, Masonry, Iron work, Traffic loops, wiring of loops, install new traffic Signal Arms with cameras, and provided data on quantities for contract payment to Griffith Construction Company.
From November 2022 to February 2023, Micro Tunneling using the Bore & Method. Project location was under the State Route 55 Freeway in Santa Ana, California. I performed CM/QA inspections on all aspects of this project, which included fit up, welding of root, heat pass, fill, and cap, 12” ductile iron pipe carrier pipe, with 30” steel casing, and a 22” iron pipe with a 42” steel casing, including fittings with restrained joints. Air blown sand filling annular spaces, grout couplings and grouting of exterior voids using grout ports, pressure testing and bacteriologic testing, shoring in the sending and receiving pits. I was chosen to provide CM/QA inspections by the City of Santa Ana and Caltrans.
From 2007 to 2021 Mr. Thompson served as Office Manager/Field Superintendent of Spec Tech Inc. Spec Tech Inc was a (DVBE), Signatory Company with Operating Engineers Union Local 12 for Engineering, Inspection, Construction Testing and Inspection. Mr. Thompson duties included setting up the laboratories for ASTM, and Cal Trans testing of project materials on and off site. Mr. Thompson was responsible for hiring all employees, maintaining company standards on all projects in the field and served as Project Manager on all projects. Mr. Thompson was also responsible for Marketing, SOQs, and bidding presentations to Cal Trans as a sub under Washington Group, Granite Construction, and Morrison-Knudsen. Spec Tech provided a special service as a DVBE, (Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise). When Mr. Thompson left the company, it was disbanded and changed to a non-union company connected to American Geotech, on Old Canal Road in Anaheim Hills. Before Mr. Thompson left, he had American Geotech’s Lab Cal Trans Certified.
SR 22 FREEWAY WIDENING: From October 2004 to November 2007, Mr. Thompson was the
Person-In charge representing Operating Engineers Local 12 on loan to Granite, Myers, Rados.
Performing the duty of First Responder, and in charge of CM/QA/QC Inspection on this 500-750-million-dollar design build project. My daily responsibilities of CM/QA/QC was for 100% of the project. Which included all concrete pours, 41 concrete bridges, 20 miles of concrete retaining walls, Pile layout and verification, concrete bent footings, concrete abutments, concrete spiral column hoop reinforcing for bents, soil testing, concrete testing, striping, k-rail installation, paint and patch repair, signage, COZEEP, MOT, shoring, falsework, barrier rail, utilities, MSE wall footings, electrical items, stems, soffits bridge deck pours and asphalt. The freeway ran for 22 miles in Orange County California. My signature was the final word for construction inspections.
SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT: From October of 2002 to October of 2004, Mr. Thompson was the lead CM/QA/QC inspector on the following 5 schools. Jackson Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Washington Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, and Hector Godinez High School (entire school). As the only on-site contact Mr. Thompson was responsible for monitoring utilities, driving 1400 piles, concrete sampling and testing in the field, and all other DSA inspections.
Alameda Corridor - Mr. Thompson was the person in charge on this 2.2 Billion Dollar Project for all QM/QA/QC management and coordination of all projects related to AC, concrete and earthwork construction, including 4 - million yards of trench excavation removal, grading operations of 26 miles of roadways which included excavation of base materials and paving, utility trenches, foundations for pump stations, concrete box culverts, concrete sampling and testing and adjusting concrete trucks in the field, concrete curb and gutter, driven piles, caissons, shotcrete, all rail replacement, new rail placement, concrete bridges, concrete overpasses, masonry, and 30,000 cast in place concrete piles as a member of Twinning Labs in Long Beach. Mr. Thompson was allowed the honor of laying the first Ceremonial Block on opening day and his children were allowed to drive the first train out of the trench at project closing ceremonies.
Port of Long Beach- 13 miles of refinery pipelines, 11 block building at Pier T, Port of LA, Pierpoint 200, and POLB, 3.5 miles of wire for switch houses and signal arm foundations with Berg CM. Dock work at Pierpoint 200 Port of LA the conception of the Alameda Corridor, responsible for excavation-compaction, all soils testing, concrete sampling and field testing including adjustment of concrete trucks, asphalt, rebar. This also included working on the Desmond Howard Bridge that connected the 710 with Terminal Island. Also included was the Middle Harbors to make over fingered berths to accommodate super sizes vessels to enable parking in one massive birth. Which then led to the Alameda Corridor project.

TUNNELING and DAMS- Inland feeder Project, worked at the head of Tunnel Boring Machine providing CM/QA/QC of hydraulic Concrete grout injection under Lake Arrowhead, this lasted for 7 miles, and fed 4 man-made lakes, concrete inspection and pours, rebar, falsework. This project is on the Discovery Channel and is called Tunneling Part A and B. Tunnel Boring Machine Certified for Tunnel Safety thru (MWD) Metropolitan Water District. Certified for Micro Tunneling, including Bore and Jack as well as regular Micro Tunneling. From November 1st 2022, to February 1st 2023 was Micro tunneling uber the 55 Freeway at Warner Bridge on behalf of the City of Santa Ana and Cal Trans.
