Responsible for underwriting business and home disaster loans. The Small Business Administration grants residential and business loans to borrower who have been affected by a natural disaster such as flood or hurricane. My responsibility consisted of insuring these applications qualified in terms of income/debt and credit and compliance with programs guidelines.

Daily responsibilities include responding to our national correspondent underwriting
scenario help inbox. Our correspondents and liaisons submit questions concerning underwriting
scenarios regarding FHA, VA, FNMA, FHMLC and USDA loan types. I am required to answer these
questions and cite the relevant guidelines, copy and paste the guideline as well provide the URL and page
numbers for their reference.
My duties also include reviewing pre-purchase conditions for closed loans submitted for purchase
to determine validity and work arounds. The issues are resolved by citing guidelines and requesting addition information or documentation. Once completed I have the authority to clear the loans for purchase or rejection.
In addition, I underwrite conventional loans on a limited basis. I have by Direct Endorsement authority (M675)
and have completed my test cases and I am starting to underwrite FHA loans. I am also working to complete
my SAR training to become a VA underwriter as well.
In addition, I am responsible for rebutting QA issues and agency buy back demands.
As a result of these duties I have accumulated extensive knowledge in the area of guidelines and regulations
for all types of loan product.

While with Silicon I was assigned to New Oak Capital, Inc. New Oak represents mortgage entities involved
in litigation as either the plaintive or respondent. The affirmative piece of my responsibilities included reviewing loans which were part of large packages from several origination sources. Each loan was reviewed for compliance with the particular guidelines for that piece of the overall package. The scope of that review included determining compliance with employment, income, asset, credit and collateral guidelines. A detailed
narrative was required for each loan. The rebuttal piece involved defending the lender against claims of
non-compliance. This required reviewing each loan for compliance to the particular guidelines for that segment
of the package and determining and, if needed, rebutting the severity of the cited breach.
