Dear HR/Hiring Manager:
I always strive to be a great asset to the company, not just to perform my job but exceed the organization’s goals to create value. I am a team player that loves to learn new processes and share important knowledge with others. When I come on board, I’m very excited to become a part of the team and innovation of the business strategies. My experience started in shipping and receiving to inventory control to tool crib and last to emergency business continuity and disaster recovery.
I have completed several IT projects as a consultant at top global companies that I am very proud of. As an IT Network System Engineer at Allergan in Irvine, CA, I was given a project to improve their Data Center. I remolded the entire data center, and save money recycling the wood and raw material from the older center to the construction company. And quite surprised to hear an instructor at a conference several years later telling the class how impressed she was when she toured Allergan data center in Irvine, Calif. Allegan is widely known for contact lenses and other eye medication. A lot of my knowledge and expanded skills has come from being very flexible and willingness to learn new things.
I was hired by Raytheon as a classified network engineer who in midpoint career was asked to updated the engineering business continuity plan for the department. I took on the project and worked with software, hardware and application engineers to add processes, procedures and designed which impressed the IT security and business continuity manager. He moved me to team and I became Business Continuity Specialist for all of Raytheon’s Space Division IT departments in the US and Germany. I lead the business continuity and disaster recovery department and advanced the program including holding exercise tabletop exercising and creating and updating all policies and procedures. That assignment expanded my knowledge and skills into GRC (Governance Risk and Compliance), creating and updating policies, ITAR, and global and local regulations. It also expanded my knowledge into a lot of national regulatory standard, policies, including FEMA, NIST, SOX, ISO, financial FFIEC, and environmental, safety and emergency preparedness. I attended meetings with the Red Cross, the local city and county emergency management managers for other companies, including, Boeing, Chevron, Northrup Grumman, Mattel, Aerospace, police, fire department, the major etc. I was on a small team of six to stand up the EOC, Emergency Operation Department.
Thank you kindly for the opportunity to submit my resume, and the opportunity to possibly interview with your team.
Best regards,
Cyndee Lester
