ARLINGTON FREE CLINIC, LEED GOLD

The Arlington Free Clinic project included the build out of a new medical facility. The design featured radius wall partitions, doors, and flooring details, as well as high end finishes for the flooring, lighting and millwork. The scope of the project included a waiting area/reception area, conference facilities, doctor's offices, multiple examination rooms, a pharmacy, open workstations, restrooms, kitchen, and records storage. Arlington Free Clinic is LEED Gold certified. Arlington Free Clinic is a private, non-profit, community based organization that provides medical care at no charge to low-income, uninsured persons utilizing volunteers and partnering with other health providers.

As a LEED project, over 75% of the materials were recycled and an IAQ Management plan was implemented.

Lutron Commercial Experience Center, LEED GOLD

Lutron is the leader in the lighting control industry and offers a wide selection of energy saving dimmers and lighting control systems. Lutron’s Washington, DC Commercial Experience Center showcases lighting innovations that support LEED certification. The 3,000 SF office includes a training room, conference room, work stations, offices, storage rooms and display area. The center is a prime training destination for architects, engineers, and facility operators to learn how Lutron’s lighting controls can reduce energy use and support sustainable design. The project achieved a certification level of Gold under the LEED for Commercial Interiors™ rating system. 19 of the project’s 63 credits were attained through lighting controls. Lutron’s products helped the design team keep the lighting power density under .85 watts/SF and achieve a variety of sustainable strategies, including:
Controlling all lights and shades in the center with the Quantam Total Light Management™ System Eliminating glare on workspaces with Hyperion™ technology that responds to the angle of the sun to automatically adjusts the Sivoia® QS shades
Visually demonstrating the energy savings achieved by the interaction of sensors, shades, and dimming ballasts via Quantam® GreenGlance software To optimize the overall performance of the space, GHT also provided sustainable MEP engineering design for daylight harvesting, energy-efficient demand control ventilation, and plumbing fixtures that reduce water use by 20%.
