SUMMARY

I am a dedicated safety professional and have a passion for the work and interactions to ensure that company and staff are competent to work safely. I have been working in Qatar for 22 years predominantly the oil & gas sector with more than 25 years’ experience in HSE. During my 16+ years my tenure with RasGas (RG) I have worked in various positions starting with senior safety advisor up to the head of safety. I have experience of working in commissioning, operations, shutdowns, and training, being able to effectively function as a inspirational leader and influence management in many areas of safety withing the organisation. I have managed a multicultural team of professionals in terms of aligning the organizations expectations and improve the safety culture of organization(s). I have experience in construction working Recently with CTJV a joint venture with Chiyoda and Technip Energies on the North Field Expansion (NFE) project for Qatar Gas. Al- Jaber & Tekfen joint venture, Structurel Qatar WWL (MEP works) in the construction of Qatar’s new football stadiums, aligning and advising the management on situational awareness, risk assessments and provide leadership to others.

Head of Safety Training

• Manage a team of highly experienced training professionals and admin support from multidisciplinary backgrounds to maintain the Training Centre and deliver various programs available on behalf of SHE&Q Group.

• Develop and manage national competency development in line with the company job family criteria.

• Liaise with corporate training on new safety training courses and offer accredited safety training for management and employees from all sections.

• Provide direct assistance and support to the Safety Manager in development and stewardship of the Safety Departments business plans, policies, procedures, objectives, authors’ internal & external reports for submission by the Safety Manager to RasGas Sr. Management, other business groups and shareholders.

• Identify the training and development needs for all employees in coordination with Asset Managers, Heads of Operations and Supervisors through the staff performance appraisal system, task and skills analyses and consultation with line managers. Determines costs accordingly along with overall project benefits.

• Provide the leadership and mentoring for the procedure development team by allocating and scheduling the resources for all procedure development and verification and ensuring the needs of the customers are met.

• Prepare special reports and presentations at the request of the Corporate Safety Manager and communicates at various Departmental and Sr Management Leadership Meetings.

• Co-ordinate, planning and forecasting the company’s competence, training and verification requirements and effectively allocating resources within budgetary constraints.

• Manage the competency development program is line with corporate competency framework and oversee that the assessments and verification process are in line with industry best practices.

• Manage and co-ordinate the safety related activities with the preparation & planning, mobilization execution, start up with all onshore facilities that includes Seven (7) LNG Trains, Helium, AKG and associated Utilities plants during Shutdowns (Turnarounds).

• Manage Safety Officers from numerous Companies contracted to perform Shutdown activities, with man power exceeding 5000 personnel & ensure full training is in line with shutdown plan.

• Co-ordinates safety plans covering various Shutdowns at different stages of development due to the large numbers of Shutdowns being executed i.e. overlapping shutdown preparations.

• Provides input and support for the safe conduct of work by personnel associated with the development and operation of the Company’s LNG plant and associated onshore process, storage and loading facilities.

• Provide Safety and Loss Prevention information, support and mentorship to operations personnel and other internal clients to ensure the conduct of safe and hygienic work practices.
