WORK EXPERIENCE
Research Chemist - Experienced Polymer Synthesis Group
P.P.G. Industries // Allison Park // March 2022 – Present
Promotion within Polymer Synthesis department. Supported the Automotive Electro-coat business by working with Research & Development, Product Development, and Engineering Teams. Participated in research and development of improved polymer resins through use of Design of Experiment approach and data analysis using JMP and Python for effective experiment planning and decision making to fulfill high-priority development needs on an accelerated timeline. Acted as a project lead or collaborator for multiple projects at a time, appropriately prioritizing experiment plans for technicians to ensure deadlines are met and advising next steps to project steering committee. Worked closely with Development Engineers and Manufacturing Teams to scale up new polymer resins safely and efficiently.
Research Chemist - Entry Polymer Synthesis Group
P.P.G. Industries // Allison Park // April 2021 – March 2022
Worked in the Polymer Synthesis department supporting packaging coatings research and development. After gaining lab expertise synthesizing and dispersing polymer resins, assumed role of project lead for a PPG top 10 project. Expanded responsibilities included data management and analysis using excel and JMP, experiment planning for a team of technicians, and presenting results to leadership team. Led process technology experiments to establish effective and scalable commercial production process. Worked on government proposal for utilizing inorganic-organic coatings for gas barrier applications.
Chemist - Contract Optical Monomers and Coatings Group
P.P.G. Industries // Monroeville // July 2020 – March 2021
Worked in the Optical Monomers and Coatings Group of the Specialty Coatings and Materials Special Business Unit. Participated in research and development as well as customer technical service relating to coatings for ophthalmic materials. Worked both independently and collaboratively within the group, with customers, and with other groups at P.P.G. Industries to conduct research and develop new coatings.
Independent Contractor
Home Repairs and Renovations // Self Employed // 2014 – 2020
Independently managed projects, including project estimates, contract writing, planning, budgeting, employee hiring and management, and ensuring client deadlines were met. Skilled in painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and use of the appropriate tools of the trade to complete projects
