SP Plus Parking – Operations Supervisor

September 2011 - Current

Manage a team of 6 cashiers /attendants and three maintenance associates whose duties are associated with customer parking. This position performs daily audits of all cash drawer located in the parking facility and prepare cash intake for bank deposits. Ensure customer issues are resolved promptly/favorably and ensure the overall operation is geared toward providing excellent service to stakeholders. As required, generate customer invoicing, prepare workforce scheduling weekly and provide employee training. Conduct sessions with employees regarding performance, conflict resolution, coaching and employee development. Responsible for purchasing and maintaining adequate office supplies, maintenance cleaning supplies, tools and equipment as needed in the day-to-day operation of the facility.

Manager Procurement, Warehouse / DN Staging Center Operations, BellSouth Communication Systems, (May 1995 - May 2006)

Provide the overall supervision and management oversight for the day-to-day operations of the BCS Purchasing Department, Inventory Management Staff, BCS Central Warehouse and the BCS Data Networking Staging Center. Duties included managing budgets/ expense control, analyzing of inventory data, employee evaluations, employee coaching and development and serve as the escalation point for issues/ matters which may exceed the scope of authority for the department’s mid-level management team. Monitor the day-to-day tasks being performed within the departments to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and promptly with a focus on delivering the Best-in-Class Customer Service and producing the best possible Customer Satisfaction Results. Ensure all work operations are being performed in accordance with BCS ISO Implementation Standards. The operating budget for the combined departments averaged $2.5M annually, procurement activity averaged $400M annually and warehouse inventory levels of $2.3M were maintained and managed.

Manager Material Quality, BellSouth Communication Systems

(May 1993-May 1995)

Duties included the selection and certification of all repair vendors utilized by BCS for the repair of defective parts and products. Developed and implemented a repair vendor certification process designed to assess the abilities and qualification of potential repair vendors prior to entering into any contractual agreement or arrangement that allowed that vendor to perform work for BCS. This certification process allowed BCS the opportunity to communicate expectations up front, eliminate misunderstandings and clearly advises the vendors that the BCS focus is to continuously deliver a superior level of quality in products and parts used in servicing its customers. BCS reduced its repair parts cost by 20% utilizing this process.

Manager Material Logistics, BCS Operations Tennessee/ Kentucky

(April 1991-May 1993)

Responsible for inventory management, material management and material logistics functions associated with customer sales and services activities in the BCS Tennessee and Kentucky CPE Division. Duties included spare parts planning, tracking return material authorization for the region, material expense budgeting / tracking and establishing material management/ inventory management goals and objectives for the TN /Ky Region.

Staff Manager Materials Management, South Central Bell Advanced Systems Inc,

(January 1984- April 1991)

Served on the staff whose responsibility was to plan, develop and control the implementation of all materials management, material logistics and inventory management requirements for the new Southern Bell and South-Central Bell Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) companies which were formed following divestiture of the Bell System in 1984. After implementation was completed, I was assigned the duty of Manager for the warehouse operation for the two companies, managing inventories totaling $35M.

Responsible for developing budgets, establishing performance objectives and the implementation of the best inventory control practices throughout the field operations within South Central Bell (SCB) Business Services. Responsible for establishing stocking levels and organizing the annual schedule for inventorying all Business Services field stocking locations. Represented Business Services in joint Residence and Materials Services inventory management planning sessions when required and dictated by corporate requirements. Additionally, represented SCB at annual inventory management goal and objective setting sessions conducted by AT&T. The sessions included all Bell System participating companies.

Staff Manager, Plant Labor Estimating, South Central Bell Headquarters Staff

(June 1980- January 1982)

Responsible for providing installation and maintenance labor hour estimates for products and services offered to customers in SCB. The labor estimates were provided to the Service Cost organization in SCB. The Service Cost organization used the estimates in developing the rates and tariffs for all SCB regulated consumer products and services offerings. Additionally, provided estimated annual failure rates and spare part stocking requirements for products in order that inventory and replacement costs could be recovered in the rates. Provided estimates for approximately 1300 products and services while in the labor estimating role.
