Current (Pending) Patents

Positive Displacement Cryogenic Liquid Pump System, TA Instruments for LN service. Co-authorship, 12/07. Patent #60/015,731 relating to cooling systems that deliver evaporative Liquid Nitrogen coolant with regulated volume and pressure. Redesigned and renamed as Discovery LNP.

Capless Twist-Up Marker, Marker types, Patent #10/607,443, November 2003

Binney & Smith Company. This patent attests to my creativity in suggesting, designing and modeling a new and safer marker. This marker has evolved into pens, permanent markers, retractables, highlighters and other designs. This design eliminates the cap which is a chocking hazard for children. Elementary schools now insist on capless markers for coloring.

TransVaginal Uterine Manipulator (TVUM), (Number 5,382,252 issued 1/17/1995)

Ethicon Endo Surgery, Cincinnati OH, 1999, Patented "knuckle' Linkage design.

Patent is renewed and current. Several adaptations of this instrument has been developed. The instrument is used for Hysterectomy, Lesions, and cancer extraction during Laparoscopic procedures. My part in the instrument is the “knuckle” design which will withstand to 50 pound force on the infusion nozzle in the patient's vagina cavity without skipping teeth to loose nozzle position. This is very important for the surgeon whose hand is on the manipulator.
