Truck Driver
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products.
Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles.
Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.
Remove debris from loaded trailers.
Install or remove special equipment, such as tire chains, grader blades, plow blades, or sanders.
Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, tire chains, or spark plugs.
Give directions to laborers who are packing goods and moving them onto trailers. SUPERVISION:
Evaluated personnel on tasks related to ammunition and hazardous material handling.
Assessed performance under training conditions to determine if tasks were understood and properly performed before attempting actual job.
Assessed accomplishment of tasks to the appropriate standards HAZARDOUS MATERIAL HANDLING:
Transported live and practice ammo to and from the Ammunition Supply Point and Fort Stewart, always complying with local and federal laws.
Ensured that vehicle was equipped with all required safety equipment.
Practiced procedures to prevent or reduce risk of injury or death of personnel.
Ensured that all ammunition was properly secured and all required paperwork was filled out properly.
ADMINISTRATION:
Maintained records of activities involving training on hazardous material handling.
Ensured accountability and for thousands of dollars in ammunition and other equipment.
Kept constant track of ammunition inventories, to include issuing out and receipt of returned ammunition.
Segregated ammunition, serviceable from unserviceable.
Maintained records of weekly and monthly preventive maintenance checks and service to ensure serviceability of equipment

MILITARY EXPERIENCE:
October 1985-1989 US ARMY: Basic training and Advanced Initial Training as a Tactical Radio Operator/Mechanic at fort Sill, OK. Duties included troubleshooting, repairing, installation, and maintenance of radio systems, telephones, and antennas.
July1996-August2005: CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD: Duties were the same as above.
September 2002-August 2004: My guard unit was called into active duty. Our mission was to control access to the (Presidio Of Monterey Defense Language Institute). As a security force, we worked alongside Federal Police and Local Authorities. Conducted random vehicle inspections, checked ID’s.
January2006- November2011: US ARMY: Reclassified into the military occupational specialty as an Ammunition Supply Technician. Trained at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Duties include working knowledge of all types and calibers of ammunition and ready to use weapon systems, ex. Stinger missiles, javelins, and dragon missiles. Was assigned to a security team during my first deployment to Iraq. Mission was to escort and secure all convoys under our supervision to and from their destinations through-out Iraq. Had zero fatalities within our convoy operation over a 15 month period. MILITARY AWARDS AND MEDALS:
