Bell Farm/Anna Bell Brubaker - Penn Yan, NY
March 1953 to Present
I was raised on a dairy farm. We also raised pigs; we always had a dog and many barn cats. In addition to the various crops we raised, alfalfa, corn, sugar beets, wheat, oats, barley, etc, we always had a large excellent garden; we shared the produce we grew with many relatives and friends. As a teenager, I also worked throughout the region picking grapes, tying grapes, picking raspberries, etc. This experience gave me the most solid foundation that has carried me throughout my life. I have always had rescue dogs and cats for pets; I have also had a love bird, a red fronted amazon, a blue and gold macaw, a scarlet macaw, and I currently have an umbrella cockatoo and a moluccan cockatoo, in addition to three rescue dogs and two cats.
