Education And Training

I received the Outstanding

Leadership award from my

denomination's ministerial

association in the mid 90's. (I

now am non-denominational.) I

realized in the early 2000's that

God did not fit in the box they

gave me.

I think by sharing this it will help any possible employer understand me at a deeper level and to know my heart and philosophy when it comes to ministry. My father was a great man of God, a pastor of pastors. He was a man who understood ministry in a way few ministers I have ever known. He understood ministry was not, sermons, pulpits, pews, pianos, or the the ability to speak with great pathos. He would often said to me, Son, "Minister is people!" When the Lord called me to pastor at the age of thirteen, he began to challenge me to be a student of the Book. He taught me many things that has made me the minister I am today.

He was a man of Principles, and he live, and ministered by them. He was a tenacious teacher to me. I could always see the assiduousness in his eyes as he taught me about Excellence in everything. Especially the small things. The importance of living by schedule, while at the same time, allowing The Holy Spirit authority to disrupt that schedule. Integrity in all things, and the list goes on and on. The greatest principle he taught me was the, "Love and compassion principle."He taught me that the folks you minister to had to know that you truly love them. He would say, in and of ourselves, we cannot love folks as we should. Romans 5:5 became the theme of many lesions. We have to daily let his Spirit pour His love into our hearts becoming conduits letting God's love flow from us to His people.

What qualifies me the most for this position is not what I learned in Bible Collage; it was learned from watching a man of God make himself available to be a vessel of God's Grace, Love < and Forgivness.God's

I've pondered how to express the true humility I have, being allow of God to to be a ministry, and the confidence I have in the abilities I have developed over the last 30 years. Here I'll do my best:
