ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
Applied Multivariate Statistical Analysis (Fall 2020): Group Project
● Assignment - Investigate two or more variables. Ran multi-regression analyses to explore key similarities and differences between two variables. Used Wisconsin Breast Cancer Dataset (30 numerical variables)
● Provided opportunity to analyze data in real-world example and apply several techniques learned in Multi-Regression Analysis Course to develop crucial analysis among malignant and benign tumors.
● Used SAS programming; investigated similar and dissimilar traits between malignant and benign tumors
● Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used to determine which selected variables from radius, texture, perimeter, area, smoothness, compactness, concavity, concave points, symmetry, and fractal dimension mean. Statistical Consulting (Spring 2021): Group Project – Team Leader and Lead Presenter
● Assignment - Derive solution to food insecurity among population group (seniors)
● Identified problem statement, “How can we improve awareness among the isolated senior population?”
● Interviewed nationwide stakeholders including Feeding Florida, Feeding Tampa Bay, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, Sacramento Food Bank, West Seattle Food Bank, Meals on Wheels Orange County.
● Following interviews and further research, learned major issues seniors face regarding food insecurity include transportation, awareness of food resources, stigma, COVID-19 complications, and social isolation.
● Group developed and implemented “Senior Scooters.” A free service for elderly where food is delivered directly to their front door from local food bank (connected to Uber Eats) Markov Chains in Sports Analytics (Fall 2022 - Spring 2023): Individual Project
● Assignment - Analyze the transition among drive outcomes in the 2022 NFL season.
● Used Markov Chains to develop system of linear equations to make predictions regarding the 2023 NFL season
● Identified statistical trends/patterns on the direction the National Football League (NFL) is headed. REFERENCES: Available upon request.
