Worked in Cisco Systems Inc. as R.12 Functional SME on P2R Track. Cisco upgraded their US OU from 11.5.10.2 to R.12.1.3 and global OUs from 12.0.6 to 12.1.3. I was specifically responsible for AP, iExp., EBTax modules and various 3rd Party tools integration to Oracle with close cross-functional co-ordination with R2R and P2O teams in the Procure-To-Record track.

Cisco followed various testing phases on multiple customizations. Detailed Business Requirements had been gathered and very extensive test plan followed. After Unit, Integration and two rounds of UAT, we went live recently. Currently supporting Post Go_Live cases.

This was a very large program for Cisco Systems Inc. involving over 400 people over a period of 5 quarters with a budget of $21M. Coordinated teams based at San Jose, North Carolina and India. Coordinated with Business SMEs throughout USA, EMEA and APAC during testing and currently in Post Go-Live support.

In EBTax, evaluated the automation features of EBTax module for Cisco’s global businesses. Cisco’s global businesses are using manual Tax Calculation currently. In USA, Cisco use SABRIX as External Tax Vendor.

Extensively used tools like HP QC, EDM, Remedy Systems etc. for Test Cases, Document Repository and Support Cases. Also extensively used MS Tools for documentation, analysis, and presentation.

On Program Engagement responsibility, worked with Prime Vendor to place appropriate resources in the project to optimize Idhasoft’s footprint and revenue optimization. Engaged with Cisco C Suite Level and Cisco PMO to promote Idhasoft as Full-Service Oracle house and place as many resources as scoped. ON Semiconductor – Financials (GL/AGIS/PO/AP/FA/iExp./CE/SLA & EB Tax)

Phoenix, AZ – Mar’10 To May’11

Worked at ON Semiconductor in their R.12.1.2 re-implementation of Oracle Financials /Procurement/HRMS/eAM/IM project as Oracle Financials Global Lead.

I was the Financials Global Lead and internal resource for ON to work with Deloitte team in this project. The entire project is phased out by various releases. In the Foundation Release we re-designed the global COA and I was primarily responsible to drive global work sessions on this. Conducted global sessions and workshops on each segments of COA along with clean up and re-design of values. Setup Oracle Multi-Org structure with LE-OU-Inv. Org.-Sub Inv. Setup Consolidation Model with PL/SL & RL. Was also actively involved in all the modules of P2P cycle in business requirements, design and testing.

In Sub Ledger modules, Led P2P cycle with deep concentration is EB Tax. Implemented a very complex Tax Solution for ON for their US and International Businesses. The phases followed are Business Requirement, Prototype, POC, Int-1 & Int-2 and UAT. We have followed AIM methodology.

Also worked on RICE objects and evaluated new RICE requirements. The RICE followed SDLCs to produce MD050/MD070/TE040’s etc. Client had significant number of RICE objects and extensive work has been done on these RICE objects on review/relevancy in R.12/modification/discard/new development etc. Also worked on BI Publisher Reports on assessment of existing reports (around 4000 reports in Discoverer), business validation, gathering modified report requirement and development of new reports. Very closely worked with SOX team to incorporate process and access restrictions in various business process flow we designed.

In documentation front, developed various presentations (PPT/Visio), Data Analysis Docs (Excel) and extensive Setup and Training Docs.(Word). Conducted Global sessions with Europe and Asia users on POC, Presentations and Training.

Also actively managed Off-Shore Teams (both Client and Deloitte) based in Europe & Asia.

Quickly won the trust of the Prime Vendor and became Program Director for Prime Vendor. We compete with Deloitte Consulting LLP. Worked in GAP Inc. as Oracle Functional SME (Subject Matter Expert) in their roll outs in Italy and Hong Kong. GAP Inc. is upgrading their Italy and rolling out a brand new OU in Hong Kong. We are integrating these two OU with GAP’s global Oracle R.12 system.

Being the Functional SME of this project my responsibilities were to initiate the discussion of GAP’s business structure (LE & OUs), business process and to address the pain points they have. Given them walk through on R.12 features to eliminate many pain points. Was extensively involved in Business Requirement Gathering sessions while the users were based at Europe and Asia and the developers were based in India. Extensively used AIM methodology in full SDLC (document Business Requirements, instance planning, off-shore resource management, configuration, testing, training, Go-Live plan and generation and maintenance of documents at the Shared Point) in this project.

Was also responsible to prepare. Monitor and report status of the project to GAP Project Manager.

Did thorough documentation as per AIM. Extensively used MS tools for Project Management, Reporting and Presentations.

The prime vendor of this engagement was Wipro Limited. Played additional role of Project Manager to manage a team of Contactors and Wipro employees and became single point contact to Wipro C Suite Management. Wipro heavily relied on me for Project Management (It was a Fix Bid Project for Wipro and the Program Manager was under pressure to make a profit) and meeting delivery timelines with highest quality.

UT Starcom India – Financials (GL/AR/AP/Ebiz Tax/FA/CE/iProc) with India Localization

Successfully completed this R.12 implementation project in UT Starcom India Telecom (P) Ltd. In this implementation we have rolled out two operating units of UT Starcom Inc., Oakland, CA, USA.

UTStarcom (NASDAQ:UTSI) is a global leader in the manufacturing, integration and support of IP-based, end-to-end networking and telecommunications solutions. The company’s strategic focus is on three core markets: Internet Protocol TV (IPTV), Next Generation Networks (NGN) and Broadband. Being the Project Manager of this project, my role was to deliver the financial modules with strict deadlines. Manage a team of consultants both on site and Off-shore centers at Bangalore and Chennai in India.

Was responsible for the entire SDLC of the project including data conversion & User Training.

Was also responsible to ensure that communication channels (both client IT/Business & Executive members) and deadlines have been met. The project also involved a unique 3 way transaction solution across 3 OUs and customization around Progress Billing and Revenue and Cost Management.

COA Re-Design and Legacy Integration - Oracle Financials – 11.5.10.2

Yahoo Inc., Sunnyvale, CA - July’ 08 – Dec’08

Worked in Yahoo Inc. Leading a functional team in Yahoo’s effort to re-design their Chart of Accounts (COA). The project also involved integration of various legacy systems with Oracle Applications as Yahoo acquired various small and medium companies like Right Media, Blue Lithium, Zimbra etc.

In this project I lead the COA team and reported to Senior Manager, IT. The responsibilities include initiating discussions on re-designing the COA. Initiating, driving and keeping track of decisions taken in various meetings, preparation of Impact Assessment documents, developing test scripts etc. As we progress in this project, the next phases are prototyping, testing, user acceptance, production cut over, after Go-Live support etc. Also worked on Extensions and Prod. Support.

Juniper Networks Inc, Sunnyvale, CA - Feb’ 08 – June’08

Worked with Deloitte Consulting in one of their prestigious project with Juniper Networks Inc. in their re-implementation of Oracle Release 12 version.

This was a very complex implementation involving Financial, Distribution and manufacturing suites of Oracle Application in Release 12.0.4. It also involved Siebel system for Customer Quote and Contracts.

Worked in the Global Design Phase in this project. Being the Finance Lead of the assigned modules (R2R & O2C), my responsibilities in the project were leading a team of consultants. Being responsible of deliverables on strict deadlines. Conducted series of sessions/meetings with multiple working groups of the client located in various places in USA and around the globe. Gathering Pain Points and providing solutions to them. This included demonstration of R.12 enhancements. Wrote Approach Papers on various solutions designs. Defined TO-BE process flows for the client using Deloitte’s Industry Print tool.

In R2R, involved in Global Chart-Of-Accounts restructuring workshops and developed the new COA for Juniper. Also extensively participated in the Global Requirement gathering sessions with Treasury and Cash Management groups.

Being the Finance Lead of the assigned modules, my responsibilities in the project were to prepare Unit Test Plans for each module and to get the sign off of the Super Users and users after detailed walk through.
