EXPERIENCE

4/2018 to Current District Manager

Rowes Supermarkets – Independent

I joined with Rowes in April 2018 as a district manager over perishables. I maintain the caliber of our team along with the maintaining the standards to exceed customer expectations. I am the direct link between vendors securing product costs for our stores each week. This in turn allows us to watch the gross profit line week to week. I work directly with the new meat associates to put together a career path. I work with all six stores to ensure the policies and production procedures are followed day in and day out. This allows us to drive sales through production ensuring we operate each day with the full variety on display at all times.

2/2017 to 4/2018 District Managers

Save a lot – Region 15

I’ve been with this company for five years. Evolving my career into

District manager. As a district manager I am responsible for seven

Stores in Jacksonville. This included all aspects of the business from staffing and building a team, to shrink and labor management, while executing new company initiatives, also overseeing ordering, display plans, and ensuring all stores operate up to the company standards on a day to day basis. Along with developing all team members into being successful in their careers while controlling EBITA and profitability. Taking over this district in May 2017, it was underperforming in many areas. Currently today we are under budget in the follow areas, shrink, and labor, while over budget in sales, customer count, and EBITA. Through my team building and leadership skills within three months my team and I were able to turn our stores back into a profitable district within this region. The company has promoted two of my store managers into training managers through coaching and training on all aspects of company policy and business acumen. The company has selected this district to roll out an investment initiative including new marketing strategies and a new everyday lower price investment.

07/2015 to 2/2017 Regional Meat Manager

Save a lot – Business Unit 15.

As a Regional Meat Manager, I am responsible for upholding the success of the meat program in all 53 stores that form Business Unit 15. I have excelled in all areas: merchandising, leadership, shrink, distribution, and sales through my knowledge and dedication to the company. In my leadership position I have participated in making this BU a noticeable asset to this company. I oversee the scheduling for all 53 stores, along with maintaining the caliber of our team. I write all of the merchandising guidelines for special selling events along with the weekly scripting. I maintain all and any changes to the meat planograms. I also prepare and present multi-unit seminars, create and communicate all of our contest templates and results. I assemble and publish the EDW data, build all of the audits, and certify all meat cutters upon completion of training. I oversee inventory tracking and analysis. As well as the operation side of the business I also participated in procurement for the region. A direct link between vendors and the distribution center I was able to seek out sale items and lead items to drive the profit lines within our region. I have trained both of our Regional Center Store Merchandise Manager and Regional Produce Manger, as well as I personally trained one of our meat managers into being promoted into a Regional Meat Manager for another region within our company.

06/2013 to 07/2015 Meat Manager

Save a lot - Deltona, FL

As a Meat Manager, I was responsible for overseeing the integrity of the program through ordering, merchandising, and running a profitable department. My goals were to thrive in all aspects of my job. As a Meat Manager, I was recognized for the exceptional standards I held in my market. Consistently under shrink budget while driving ID sales over 200 bases points over budget before being promoted within the company.

02/2012 to 06/2013 Meat Manager

Peoples Premium Meats - Ormond Beach, FL

When I moved to Florida, I was looking to get back in to a slaughter house environment. However, they are not a prevalent in Florida as they are in Ohio. I found a small family owned specialty grocery store and started as the kitchen/meat manager. In this position I was responsible for overseeing the fresh meat counter, ordering, merchandising, advertising, scheduling, buying, pricing, case layouts, and profits. I managed this business from unlocking the door in the morning to making the deposit into the bank in the evening. I was required to contact the owner at the end of the week to discuss the bottom line numbers weekly.

06/2002 to 01/2012 Butcher/Meat cutter`

Turk Brothers Custom Meats - Ashland, OH

I started with Turk Brothers as a sanitation associate at the age of 15. I worked my way up to a full time butcher/meat cutter and a sanitation trainer. Since, Turks is a small family owned business I was able to learn all aspects of the business. As I worked the harvest floor I was able to learn the anatomy of these animals and how the breeds reflect in the yield. Merchandising, takes on a whole new meaning when you are working with these animals from a living state. Working all aspects of the business, I worked the fresh meat counter and was able to learn the retail side of the business along with customer service and marketing. This facility was a state and federal inspected plant therefore, I was able to gain the knowledge of the USDA and OSHA laws, which lead to being selected to USDA certified grade animals, for the resale in a retail environment.
