About me:

My 30 years' experience in the Public Services sector with focus on the public in regard to roads, sanitation and power and light operations. One of my past experiences was with the North Slope Borough as a Village Services Manager that covered the 8 villages that spanned over 94 thousand square miles from Point Hope to Kaktovik, Alaska. This involved the Capital Improvement Projects to Grant request and overall budget management. I had also been in the position of being the NSB Disaster Coordinator with roles in North Slope Disasters as Incident Commander, Operations Chief, and in the Planning and Logistics Sections. My part-time experience is over 20 years’ plus also involved working at the City of Barrow gym, which broadened my involvement with the community of Barrow. My experience has brought me to focus on countless hours of volunteering as a committee member on numerous boards such as KBRW Silakkuagvik board of Directors as vice-president, City of Utqiagvik Taxicab Commissioner, North Slope Borough School District Student Advisory Committee member, North Slope Borough Volunteer Firefighter, Barrow Motor Musher's Team Leader, and Inupiat Assembly of God Youth Leader among other various volunteer work in Barrow.

FEB 2018 - APR 2022 (4 YEARS 3 MONTHS) WORKING FOR THE IRA TRIBAL GOVERNMENT AT THE NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT I WOULD ADVOCATE FOR PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES INCLUDING WATER, LAND, FISH, PLANTS, MAMMALS, AND BIRDS IN THE NORTH SLOPE REGION AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE FOR THE INUPIAT. THE DEPARTMENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EPA FUNDED INDIAN GENERAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS AND PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO TWO VILLAGES TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT THIS PROGRAM AT THE VILLAGE LEVEL. OUR GOAL IS TO DEVELOP LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES ASSET PLANS AND STEWARDSHIP STRATEGIES.
