To whom it may concern,

For the last three years I’ve been a full time student. A car accident four years ago changed the course of my life. After some time in recovery, I focused on improving my education while rehabilitating my body. I was required to retake all prerequisites, but my favorable GPA allowed me to accelerate my studies into a masters program. I was doing well, and impressing my mentoring professors. I was in the final year of my masters’ program when I was being targeted by a senior biology professor at my institute. The sequence of events landed me in Essex County jail for felony intercept communications. There I met several essex county and union county officers. We seemed to get along well, and I’ve since put my application in there. I have a penchant for investigation that extends into the realm of research. I have some patrol, field experience and emergency response experience. If accepted, the combination of experience and training would supplement that ability and allow me to grow into a valuable member of the team. I also have some experience in data analysis, scientific writing, and research.

Thank you for your time,

Eric Meier

Additional Information:

I have experience in C++ programming, HTML, and Visual basic, and R. I’ve had computer hardware repair and assessment training. I can maintain and repair tools commonly associated with fieldwork, and wild land firefighting. I’m certified in two levels of search and rescue. I have school and lab experience in culturing, biological assays, genomic purification techniques, drug synthesis, esterification processes, PCR, and western blot. I have experience in biostatistics, and qualitative and quantitative analysis of a wide range of data. Despite my injuries, I still score well on self-administered physical assessments. It would be an honor to serve again, and I’d use the position to leverage entrance into a law enforcement based degree.
