To Whom It May Concern,
When reading my career history it’s important to know that my career path up until the beginning of the pandemic is one that's actual value can be difficult to understand unless you, yourself, have lived in the world that I grew up in so here goes... I was raised my entire life in a family owned and operated business where my family makes & designs renaissance style clothing that we sell in our shops at Renaissance Festivals Nationwide. I know this doesn't sound like much as I'm well aware of what most people think of when they think of the Renaissance Festival. The fact is, however, that Renaissance Festivals became a nation wide industry responsible for an entire American subculture less than a decade after the first Renaissance Festival opened in the Agoura Hills Back In the late sixties. Let me assure you, it is because of my life in this industry & my family's business that I am such a strong & capable woman. I started working weekends on our sales floor when I was only 8 years old, I was the assistant manager by 14 and after turning 18 I spent 16 years traveling full time running/managing our shops all across the country & creating products. I can't count how many times I’ve driven across the country in every which direction.
Because it was my family's business there was no job that I didn't do; Admin, Travel planning, Bookkeeping, Ordering, Inventory, customer service, retail sales, maintenance the list goes on. If there was a job that needed to be done I needed to figure out a way to do it, most times with extremely limited resources. When the pandemic started I finally faced the fact that it was time for me to walk away and start a new adventure. One that expanded beyond my family & the tightly woven nomadic community that I called home.
