CAREER SUMMARY

I have many years of experience in the chemistry field, including years in the United States Government, also working as a sergeant in the US Army and especially as a chemist at the US Bureau of Mines and at the US Mint while using specialized knowledge of chemistry, geophysics and mining to solve problems. I developed and applied quality standards on various research projects including assessing potential risks associated with metals, chemicals and hazardous materials at landfills and other cleanup sites throughout the western US. I also prepared reports and used EPA methods to characterize hazardous chemicals and their effects on water air and soil. I wrote the chemical hygiene plan for the Mint and the Bureau of Mines. In my last job at the US Mint in Denver, I helped the Environmental Engineer ensure the Mint was in compliance with EPA and City of Denver Wastewater regulations. I applied quality control methods and trained personnel in statistical processing of data and use of chemicals and disposal of hazardous chemicals properly. I have expanded my computer skills and am familiar with Word, Excel, PageMaker, PeopleSoft, Datamyte, and other chemistry applications of software such as XRF, UV, NMR HPLC and IR.
