3. Summary of Professional Experiences

Medical College for Women & Hospital ( 14 Dec2003 – 01 Sept. 2022)

Worked as Professor and Consultant of Paediatrics in “Medical College for Women and Hospital”, a graduate Medical College under the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and a 500 bed General Hospital with 50 Paediatrics beds including a Neonatal Ward and Paediatric Outpatient department.

Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital (Mar 2003- Dec2003)

In the year 2003 joined Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital as a Senior Consultant and Director of the Hospital and worked for about a year and started the Hospital. I was responsible for initial recruitment training of the staff, planning and Management. I established the Hospital along with 50 bedded Paediatric department with all modern equipment and started functioning from the very opening of the Hospital.

Dhaka Community Medical College & Hospital (March 1999-March 2003)

In January 1999 I was appointed as a full-time Consultant Paediatric and subsequently took charge of Clinical Director at Dhaka Community Hospital. I was responsible for the overall management of all paediatric patients including daily ward rounds, OPD consultations and on-call duties. I had to also supervise the work and training of medical officers, nurses and community health workers.

1.Worked as a research fellow in ICDDR, B with Principal Investigator Dr S M Akramuzzaman in the study” “Measles vaccine effectiveness and risk factors for measles in Dhaka, Bangladesh” in 1994-1995

2.I have continued my clinical research in different fields of Paediatrics in our Hospital, Medical College for Women and Hospital, Dhaka Bangladesh over my period of work in Infectious diseases like Enteric fever, Bronchiolitis, Neonatal Hypoglycaemias and Neurodisability.

3.The research was done to complete the Thesis for Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development under BRAC University Dhaka, Bangladesh on “Relationship of Parental Expectations for their Child's Future achievements to the Child language Development” in 2010
